I lost my phone during E3 unfortunately so I had to dig out an old one from the cupboard to keep me going for now. It's an old Ericsson T38m, and while it's actually pretty decent and does most of the things I need, the screen is just bugging me too much.

I've been checking all sorts of phones over the last week and in the end I've settled on a Motorola SLVR. I've heard it's a bit of a chav phone but I think I can get away with it. The only problem was that I didn't like the black/silver styling much. It just looked a bit too unhappy in those colours.

I considered getting the pink one for a while. Then I came to my senses...



So in the end I opted for one of the charity red phones. Apparently £10 goes to some good causes in Africa. More importantly I can match it to my next hair highlight colour.



Anyway it arrives Tuesday, hope it turns out to be a good phone.

He's not here to mess about. Fatal1ty wins the 30 frag FFA game, closely followed by fojji, then Cooller unable to get the laptop keyboard under the table, with Stermy struggling in last place with his limited mouse space.

No time to plug in the mouse and nowhere to plug in the keyboard. Cooler just sets up some keys to play. On the other side Stermy has some trouble moving left with the laptop in the way, and moving right with the power lead in the way.

All of a sudden Tosspot bursts into the room screaming "I NEED A QUAKER". He grabs Cooller and scrambles through the crowd. Obviously I follow him as he weaves through people, leading us to a VIP room in the back.

Already set up in the room are Fatal1ty, fojji and Stermy. Cooler quickly joins them for a four player q4dm1 free-for-all on XPS laptops.

The only stand with numbers replacing letters in the whole of E3. It is, of course, the Fatal1ty stand featuring all of the Fatal1ty brand partners and a shootout stage.

After hours of walking, I finally found Quake Wars. Unfortunately it was getting very late at this point and I had other meetings to go to, so I couldn't hang around for the 40 minute wait to play. What can I say? It looked good. I guess I'll have to wait for the demo.

Warcraft players with a back-breaking posture according to resident #esreality know-it-all, tom. Ms.X is in the background with a strange downlighting effect.

Chaoticz wins out in this all-stars show match. Socrates had major problems with the screen, with it being generally too big and too close-up. In the end he played windowed with what looked like a very low refresh rate.

Just when E3 looks like it has nothing more to entertain me, the sound of Quake goodness draws me around the corner to witness Socrates and Chaoticz play their all-stars games for GGL. djwheat casts it live to a crowd of e3 show-goers, those lucky lucky people.

ITG's NiceGuyEd commentates on a huge Guild Wars battle between the top two guilds, live on stage.

This girl was doing some very provacative dancing in front of a hundred-strong crowd of pseudo-photographers. Yes I realise taking this photos makes me one of those geek photographers.

I don't actually know why these girls were dancing on stage and asking everyone to wave with them. I'm guessing most of the guys waving along didn't know either.

I just noticed that when you write down "Burning Crusade" in Arial, it looks a little like "Bumming Crusade". There was no bumming on this stand, just a big scarey demon hunter and some WoW addicts.

Microsoft (I assume) had a huge stand showing off "Gaming for Windows" and behind that Xbox. I didn't find the motivation to explore this any further.

The queue to have a wii was very long, even the gents one. In the end I decided I didn't have a spare three hours to wait in line so I took a photo of the line instead for your viewing pleasure. It was a good line I would say. Nintendo had some random plasma screens showing people who would talk to those queing, interacting with a webcam and microphone. Someone should have gone MI:III on those webcams and put a polaroid in front showing an empty hall so they could sneak past, but they didn't.

Nokia are taking a different slant on their N-Gage, they're now developing it for all sorts of phones.

The PS3 is taking some slating in the gaming press.

This is something of a surprise. The Intel and Dell mobile showcase use Quake 4 as the game to run on their high-end hardware.

This place is huge. There are people, halls and things going on everywhere. I hardly know where to start.

The girlz of destruction were doing some kind of tag-team deal throughout the show so the chrome guy got a different escort each day. Here's the lovely Liefje sporting some shades to help with the glare.

What's the first thing you see going into E3? Booth babes? A massive queue? No it's Trito and a freaky Chromed guy giving the thumbs up to anyone taking a photo!

While I was watching the Americas Army show a truck drove past sponsored by Fatal1ty. The "Your Ad Here" guys didn't put half as much effort in.

Outside the halls, Americas Army put on a great show. Some of their sky diving team jumped out of a black hawk and landed just by the entrance of E3.

The convention centre in E3 is an impressive sight. The whole area is decked out in adverts as far as the eye can see. Pretty much every guy walking down the street is either on his way to or from the show.

It's 2006 and IGUK sent Sujoy over to LA to witness the American spectacle of E3.

I changed my plans last minute so now I'm going to E3. It should be fun. In particular I want to see Quake Wars and the GGL Allstars event. Other than that I'm sure there'll be plenty of excuses to party, so who's gonna be there? Post here if you'll be at E3!

We found the Jamerio shop in Stockholm.

On 12 April 2006, VIA and the Girlz of Destruction launched the Home of Chrome, an eSports training facility based in Sweden. Four of the seven g0d girls are living in this huge house, bringing a new definition to gaming lifestyle.

Five minutes after the final is over Carmac is still staring at the scoreboard, unable to believe the result. Tosspot celebrates a win for ESR and picks up a discoball and some iPod speakers.

Carmac is struggling in the final between him, Tosspot and one other journalist. It's not looking great, despite the encouragement from VIA's Tim and Ingrid.

To spice things up, they organised a tournament for the journalists at the launch party. All the guys who could hold a mouse took up the challenge including GGL's Carmac and ESR's Tosspot.
