My first try on a given day is always the best, the 224 I did was my very first try and I haven't improved yet. But I only played the game about 10 times and I'm not planning to play it some more because I think it has something to do with CPU speed as well.

If you take 20 random numbers form 1 to 10 and divide them by 20 you'll have a 5 most of the times. That's why yr scores are so close, because it's an average. DUH! ;)

And it's the RTSD (Reaction Time Standard Deviation) that tests yr consistency, lower is better. Mine is around 30 but asterope has only 12.84 and that's very low/good. In fact, he might be really talented without fully realizing it. =D

Well, I realize the score it gives is an average of 20 tries, and it even shows the average deviance, but I just can't believe how I kept getting scores SO close...

I range from 225 to 260. Is that what you call close?

On other reaction tests that show you your score after each test, I have often gotten the same score many times in a row; one time I got .213 sec about 5 times in a row. It's pretty interesting that our minds are able to be so consistent in these tests, down to 1/1000 of a second.

What I see as a problem is that the tests are too close together. After you hit enter when you see the square, it seems that the next test starts too early, so your mind doesn't have a chance to regroup.

Someone pliz, invite some great players like Gitzzz, VoO, to take the test, I wanna know if they're really much more faster then average people or if they equally fast but just smarter on the game.....

we had something about this in school once, about reaction time and such. The thing is, its the same for everyone, only other thing that makes you faster is how much you concentrate, how tall you are, and what you have eaten. I cant remember it exactly since it years ago, but the reason your height matters, is that the time for a nervesignal to travel in your body is something like 250-300kmph. Aaaand, something with the arms being longer, the lenght for the signal to travel being longer, the signal had to travel funny bla bla bla. And the reason im talking about the height is that your arm lenght is following your height. They are proportional or wtf you call it. But we also learned that you can enhance a "feeling", as the body remembers things it repeats. (we actually asked our teacher if that meant it was bad to alter the sensitivity in games, and we were told yes :P). And what you eat is because of how the brain and the nerves work. Though this part im not THAT sure about, i just remember that the neurons (those that actually make up our brain), they are being affected by the chemicals in the body, like what we get from alcohol. Its not actually the alchohol that makes you drunk, but that as soon as the alcohol enters our body there are a cascade of chemical reactions and its the biproduct of one of these reactions, the fatty acid compounds (yes, i actually looked it up :), that makes you drunk. So while it goes that bad way with alcohol, some biproducts are good to us, like ginseng. So, a small progamer eating healthy would probably score good :p. But i think you can do one more thing. When you bodybuild and want to get stronger, there are four ways to do so, and one of them is to improve the neural adaptions. (i honestly dont know what they are called in english so you get a rough translation)/improving the central nerve system. This is done by using a training where you lift weights near your maximum liftcapacity, like 85-100 % of one 1RM, which would be the maximum weight you can lift once, and then there another method by doing what a guy named Fred Hatfield calls CAT training (Compensatory Acceleration Training), which is that you train with weights that allow explosive lifting. I actually dont do bodybuilding my self, i just read a lot about it, though i do lift some weights when i can find some time.
But as said, thats another thing i suppose you can do. I know that improving your nerve system makes you stronger, but i actually dont know if its helping carrying the nerve signal faster/better.

The ponit is that I replied the guy who stated that the taller you are the slower your reflexes tend to be cause the chemical signs have to travel more (cause the more taller the longer the arms will be).

It doesn't look Z4 have slower reflexes, at least to me.

uhm.. PERHAPS-..just perhaps the time for the signal to travl ISNT that fucking much of a deal in fps games. Even if you had a delay of 0.5 seconds, you tend to know how fast you can push and then start pushing the button 0.5 seconds before you place the crosshair in front if him. But there is a difference, period. And it is actually quite high, so cooller is more likely to win a "press the button" game like the above.

You probaly right, reaction tie ISNT that important, unless someone is really really fast, like reaction time bing under 100ms in the sloBrain and deviation like 5-10ms, someone like this could win any q3 match just railing the enemy to death, even if he is not a smart player.
But I think there is not that much people out there able to be that fast.

The standard deviation doesn't really matter in practice; all it is is the average distance from the mean, so if you're more consistent then you will have a lower standard deviation and vice-versa.

Lifting weight near yr 1RM... (95-100%, 85 is way to low) From what I know it doesn't improve yr reaction time, you only train the CNS to activate more motor units.

I do lift weights and rarely do more than 5 reps, I do doubles mostly with around 95% of my 1RM. My first goal is to do a strict bodyweight (73-74 Kg) Military Press. My bodyweight is stable at 73-74 Kg.

And like I said I do doubles with about 95% of my 1RM, which is 58 Kg or 127 Lbs. By the end of the year I hope to have a 1RM MP of 70 Kg or 156 Lbs. I Power Clean this weight first.

Not to compare e-penis/reaction time, but to see that there was a noticible difference in both speeds when trying to hit enter with your non-dominate hand.
