One alternative that I can imagine is that they made the gfx with the maps and the picks, and after that the players agreed to change picks, and there was no time to re-do the gfx. Or maybe the people who made the gfx just got it wrong.

If it was against the rules, Cypher surely would have complained if it bothered him. Also didn't influence the results. So I don't think anything needs to be done. (And that's coming from a guy that thinks Rapha is pretty much the worst thing that happened to Quake :))

I have some additional infos, Cypher one day was doing a commentary over that series of matches on his stream, and he stated he specifically picked Visor to ban because in the previous days he had practiced with Rapha, and he could never beat his Visor on Blood Covenant, so he knew he had to avoid it.

There are a number of reasons as to why he didn't protest the ban evasion, he was probably too focused on the match and didn't want to break focus and create a confrontation on stage.

Anyway current situation of QPL is awkward, no LAN, NA vs EU and playing on high ping and picking servers for the matches.

I read this website since a long time, and one thing I firmly think now is that this nex1 guy is mental at least to some degree. I mean everyone is a bit mental but this one definitely is something. He would typically be the kind of guy thinking "oh my opponent cheat so I'm going to tarnish his reputation as much as I can, I will troll him with cheat whenever possible", thinking that he is smarter and al.

See, some time ago I was a bit like that, thinking some players better than me were cheaters, then I realized it was all in my head and it was refraining me from getting better myself. I regret some of the stuff I might have said to some nice guys, but I think this nex1 guy will never reach this point.

For example I think Serious was not cheating, he had addiction problem with Quake and wanted to find a way out of it. I too thought he was a cheater back then, but now that I reached a certain level I think he was genuine. Now the question that would drive anyone mental is, "would you have changed your mind hadn't you reached a certain skill level?" this thought is tough to answer.

Everyone writing on esr nowadays is mental. Look at me, answering or arguing with random ppl on things I don't care about because I have nothing better to do... Sane ppl notice there are only mentals here and don't visit.

You can find saner discussion about quake on discords or somewhere, maybe even reddit, but most esr mentals are banned there because they snap quite often.

I'm sure bots are a big problem on quake discussion boards. I don't know about reddit but there was always a ton of trannies in quake (and many other online games). If you go play any quake, every other girl player is actually a boy and it's been like this since I can remember.
