Music was terrible and that hud bouncing was really annoying. The content must have been somewhat enjoyable though since i made it to the credits..

The HUD is a blatant ripoff of Kabcorp's amazing DFWC 2017movie. From what I understand, Kabcorp did some really ingenious stuff to make that HUD for his movie. The HUD in this movie (RRWC18) is an actual in-game HUD element written in Lua by GoaLitiuM (who I should've credited at the end of the movie but forgot). There were some artifacts caused by adding motion blur in AE which maybe made the HUD a bit more annoying than it would be otherwise.

Regarding the music, it's not something I would listen to personally but in terms of pace and structure, it was a little bit easier to work with (from an editing perspective) than some of the other songs I was thinking about using. I've been fixated on synthwave/darkwave lately but that's a much slower style of music and probably would've made the content feel slower.

Not a fan of the freecam/3rd person parts. Well, I'm not a fan of those in general, but I feel like in this video they cut out some parts that would've looked really good in first person. Especially night's amazing skip on the second to last map. I didn't really like the music either, but that's clearly subjective. Everything else was great. 8/10 I guess.

Yea, that's valid criticism. There is a great temptation to just make it all POV since that's what I enjoy the most. :D But it helps to have the variety if it fits with the song and doesn't confuse the action. Doing 3rd person cameras can help keep the pace of the movie high, I think.

My thinking was that if someone wanted the raw runs (no music, no intro, no outro) that is already available on YouTube and Twitch. It seemed sort of redundant to release a movie that just clipped them together. So my goal was to make something like Kabcorp's DFWC2017 movie.

Can't stand the music for the entirety, even in a video like this, and the lack of in-game sounds really accentuate its use. Got 3 minutes in before skipping forward and being done with it.

As we all know, AFPS popularity is inversely correlated with how great the game is. The more popular the AFPS is, the more likely it is to be a shitty OW wannabe.

EDIT: Popularity is pretty meaningless. There's loads of shitty games that are really popular just because they're in a "trendy" genre (MOBA, Battle Royale, OW-style FPSs, etc.).

Since you took the time to come throw shade on a game people are enjoying, I assume you must feel threatened by the fact people actually enjoy the games they're playing (unlike QC which is a game people play despite not enjoying it).

The more popular a AFPS is and the more exposure it has, regardless of how good or bad it is. That's the reality. It doesn't matter how good or bad Reflex, Warsow, Xonotic etc. are, they just don't have exposure.

Popularity is not meaningless to be honest. If you play a game played by a couple dozen players the chances of seeing new maps and new developments are quite slim as opposed to more popular games. Now I'm not saying that I play games just on popularity alone (otherwise I'd be playing Dota, OW, PUBG etc.), but I probably tend to avoid those which have no player base (like Q3, Warsow, Reflex, etc.)

I didn't know pointing at the fact that a game isn't played is throwing "shade" at it. If anything I'm a bit gutted I bought Reflex on steam because of the hype when it came out, only to realize the game is nothing special and no one is playing it. I have a feeling Diabotical will be the same; everybody is excited about it now but if it's not free to play barely anyone will buy it and play.

I'm not threatened by anything, as unlike many on here I don't consider those games my life. I actually don't give a flying shit which game dies or become popular tomorrow, especially QC.
