Summer jam is subjective. I found this band in the summer and listen to it a lot in my car in the heat with the windows down. Its my summer jam of 2015

Nothing else in this thread is a summer jam either (apart from the song literally titled summer jam) and is just a song that the person is enjoying. Actually they might be I dont know what constitutes a summer jam. But I wouldnt ever consider putting any of them on my summer jams playlist just like you wouldnt with mine.

I guess the term "summer jam" can be somewhat objective, but it seems like the main element a "summer jam" should have is that it sounds "fun". Of course, "fun" is objective too, and it seems like you may have a reaaaaalllly different idea of "fun" from many others (including me). So I'm fine to relax and let you enjoy your summer jams :)

Nothing to do with me my man. I dont think my song deserves any more attention than any other song posted here. I just posted my summer jam and I know loads of people on here seem to like metal from previous posts so I didnt think it was ludicrously out of place on esr.

I think its pretty good and despite the fact that I associate the archspire song more with summer, this probably fits your idea of a summer jam more.

She even says summer in the song like 15 times.

Because Metal is all-inclusive. For every genre of music outside of Metal, it exists within metal as well. If you don't like Metal, it's entirely because you haven't found the opening that clicks with you yet.

For the record, I think the song he posted is garbage. I'm not defending all of Metal, 99% of it (as well as any genre), is extremely boring.

I don't have a preferred style by any means... I like The Melvins, new and old, and Behold the Arctopus as well. Haven't heard much Giraffes, but what I've heard was decent.

I play drums, and the style I would like to write (don't write much), hasn't really been done. It's naturally somewhere between Steve Shelton of Confessor and Marco Bolognini of Nero di Marte, even though I'm nowhere near as good as either.

If you already know these guys, you'll think, "how obvious," but for some reason they never get talked about...
They're one of the reasons for my complete disdain for the Archspire song. One of the things that makes album special is that most of the genre bending happens without seams. You'll get the clean parts in the heavy sections, or even funk + flamenco + chugs at the same time. There's only a few moments where the song makes a complete shift.

Dismiss their first album. The 2nd album is the one the song I showed is from. Their 3rd album is somewhere between the song I showed and The Mars Volta. It's not as strong as either, but it's definitely more experimental with sounds overall.

Archspire is the same as every other stock techdeath band of the last 10 years. At a certain point I would have loved it, but it does nothing for me anymore. There's good parts here and there, but I can only listen to a guitar noodle over a blast beat and a stock death growl with no energy for so long before I get bored...

When I first found these guys I was on a cheesy Electronicore binge. The rapping broke out and I thought. "how silly!" But then they transitioned out of it flawlessly. They don't throw in a part to say that part is in there, they will actually linger and explore a bit.

And I guess just listen to Igorrr's Nostril. I've posted tracks from it before, it's a trip.

Love it! can you provide more artists like the first one? When i look for jazzy stuff i never find that kind of stuff :/

there are A LOT of people who tried to mix hip hop and a live jazz band like takuya kuroda did on his album (from miles davis and herbie hancock to random weird obscure european jazz musicians to guru from gangstarr to random wierd obscure european producers), but imo only three did it right

1. Takuya Kuroda: definitely my favourite, because he stays very true to both genres, it's a very pure mixture of both, if that makes any sense

2. The RH factor: not exactly hip-hop, the musicians on this album are more or less the musicians who played on D'Angelo's Voodoo record, so heavy, but subtle hip hop influences.

3. Robert Glasper Experiment: also very true to both genres, but in very different ways. Their last two records were very popular and they're good, but imo they really shine live where they more or less completely drop the script, but still manage to be tighter than tight. Their live sound can be a lot more... aggressive than their albums, though.

From the Hip-Hop side, you should definitely listen to Dilla. It's just insane how he could transform and combine samples. He could turn this into this

The sample is really the key to this songs success, it brings back memories of late 80s early 90s vibes of soulful r&b groups although it is hardly original it has been used plenty of times before. It makes the Chris Brown vocals and Big Sean raps tolerable but hey! its a funny video even though Big Sean just stands around awkwardly in the background as Chris Brown takes most of the spotlight being the 'light skinned pretty boy' he is today while he busts some moves and pops some MJ style ooh wee every now and then.

I feel as though Big Sean could be a good rapper (Im that nigga, thats yo nigga, even when you got a nigga is hardly a creative rap but there is something catchy about it) but he is just another one of these GOOD Music artists that looks at his music as more of a business with a good cash flow rather than just making 'good' music and for Chris Brown, sure he can sing but he just pimps himself out these days to just about every major pop artist there is, not that they would really give a fuck about what I think when they good weed, bitches and money.

Give that Ty Dolla $ign didn't actually appear in the video I can only assume that his contribution was the dude near the end with that attempt at romantic vocal given that this was a the end of the song and that he's not in the video I guess the guys in charge could only assume the girls don't like his face and they couldn't just tell him to get the fuck out of the track that got made into the single because he needs some money out of this too right? I doubt it would go down well if they made a separate version of that track to release as the single.
