On the 1st of December, L-Team Gaming will be hosting Last Man Standing, a NA duel tournament for the 1300-1799 ELO players (exceptions may be made). The account must also be 3 months old and at least have 24 hours of gameplay. The tournament will have 8 groups with the top 2 players from each group moving on to the playoffs. Group matches will be a Bo1; all matches up to semifinals will be a Bo3, while the bronze finals and grand finals will be a Bo5. The tournament will be streamed by Targetquake. Thanks easy!

This is rly stupid. NA barely gets any action these days, and you want to limit it even more? Facey doesnt have the fundings for the NA cup, so why not:

1. Make the cup before DHW, so theres pracc

2. Make the elo range unlimited so that rapher dahank zerofor etc can play. This will also increase the chance of ppl donating = Better prize pool + entertaining players = Decent stream viewer count.

I think this is meant towards having lower tier N.A. players have a shot at a reasonable online tournament experience. As much as I'd like to see Dahang/Zero4/Rapha/Chance/dkt/sparks battle it out, the skill gap over here is astronomical in comparison to Europe and there are few opportunities for a newer duel player to gain proper experience. It's generally rape or be raped, with the occasional even skilled game.

But that can't happen because Dahang can't participate. The one who's gonna win will be a <1800 Elo player. Sure, he'd lose to Dahang if he was allowed to play, but chances are he wouldn't have joined the tournament in the first place then.

As davis and flashsoul already stated, this tournament is for the lower level players that never got to shine because of the top level duelers signing up for majority of tournaments(e.g. rapha, DaHanG, ZeRo4, chance, etc)

NA is so fucking dead in terms of duelers.

There were a few up and comers in quakelive duel:

lol u kidding? you do know walter is the one got rapha in dueling in quake 3. It's precisely because walters aim was so fucking gay that rapha learned how to play duel in his style of taking no stupid risks.

Laskij, it's true that the intensity&competitive level is without peer on CIS&EU servers, BUT just watch qlranks.tv sometimes(adjusting for timezone,heh) and you'll catch some entertaining NA duelers.

Just a few nights ago 102.Ash came on a server not just to talk to Rapha; he had lots of encouragement for the rather serious-minded NA dueler Zar.

Sure the duel scene here's not the multiple block party you find when scanning your servers; it's more like a perverted house party with entertaining guests and annoying stop-n-go visitors; but definitely not dead.

test and nuttybro have been over 1800 elo for much of the last 30 days. Boots is there too, but uses a lot of different names so it's hard to nail down a number. He's won money at Quakecon for god's sake.

Flair's elo is low considering his skill. He's only been over 1800 elo a few days in the last month.

It depends on where they want to draw the line. I think test, nuttybro and boots should be removed, but flair I'd keep.

First place, $50. Second place, $4. Third place, $2. Who thought up this prize distribution?
