I found that really awkward that I have to click 4 times to change game type of servers displayed on QL's server list. It's not so user friendly so I decided to do a tweak for that by using user script. Any feedback will be appreciated. I tested it only with Greasemonkey on Firefox and QLPrism.

- Added quick filter links for new game types
- Fixed Select None button not working due to change of jQuery lib by ID Software team

- Added links to switch between Public and Private servers
- Added 'Favorite star' on the right side that launches pop-up window with customization options of what game types shall be displayed on the bar
- Added over mouse captions with full game type names

I will consider this, on the Mode bar there's not enough space for that but maybe it could be placed somewhere above. To be fair there should be also Invited servers list, however I guess this filter setting is used rarely.

This and can users choose modes they want? I'll never will need ctf, insta and ft for fast switch, so why waste space? It'll be better to make icon to make possible bookmarks with server/mode, for example "TDM Frankrurt Private" and "Duel Moscow Public", "CA Amsterdam Public".

You can filter location using filters from QL New Alt Browser by typing names of locations in Include and Exclude filters.

For those unused modes, there is probably chance of using Greasemonkey command menu on the browser's status bar. There is update button over there at the moment. Other QL extensions made by wn used some kind of customization and local settings storage. There is a chance to introduce this feature.

these two features added and it will be totally awesome. the total customisation cerbz has in mind is perhaps a bit overkill, but something like options for the script to choose which gametypes to display would be for the better.

same with the private checkbox.

There is a bug or something like that , i have the script installed but sometimes i press accidently on the customize button and the default menue shows up, when i try to close it , it hangs and i cant switch any gametype with the script or the default browser.
Any solutions ?

It could be a bug because the script temporary removes function that toggles customize menu for short period of time and then restores it back. That was necessary for automatic saving of settings and you probably managed to expose this by accidentally double-click on the one of game mode buttons. I will try to reproduce it at home and deliver bug fix with the new release. Thanks for reporting!

I could not reproduce this bug. Please let me know when it happens again with more details. I spamed mode buttons and customize button with tons of clicks/double-clicks and nothing bad happened.

it happens to me when i press

1) CUSTOMIZE (server list settings) ----> SAFE (normally the popup box goes away but atm it stays till i reload the whole site or
switch to player stats, or something else, and back then its normal again)

im using win7, firefox 8 with ghostery and flashblock , and some other gracemonkey scripts that you can download here http://www.mediafire.com/?1c6qzn27izmozd1

Thanks, that's awesome. But I'm having trouble with getting updated script work in QLPrism. Tried refreshing the page and restarting QLPrism.

The thing is - after I choose my favourite game types and click 'OK' they just don't show up. I click on the star again - pick game types - 'OK' - still nothing. :(

Also, 'Select All' and 'Select None' button don't work as well.

Blah, I see that something works different on Prism. I use Firefox for development. I will look at it later because I'm leaving my home now.

Edit: I temporary downgraded version back to 1.2 to find out what is wrong.

I'd suggest changing "@updateURL ..." to use HTTPS, since (by default) Scriptish requires secure updating.

After a few hours of raging yesterday and today I finally managed to run the script properly on QLPrism. The new version is available through auto-update and userscript site.

So this is tested on Firefox and QLPrism that I have. I can't check if it still works in Chrome.

It does work in both Prism and Firefox unless you are using some out-dated version of FF. Try to update Firefox to the newest version.

doesnt work when i quit FF, only on close/reopen ql-tab. maybe some of the FF-settings (cookies and stuff getting erased on quit), tried a bit but couldn�t find it
using win7 64bit, if thats the problem

Ok, then check this:
1. Open URL in address bar: about:config
2. Type it to filter variables: dom.storage.enabled
3. It shall be set to true (it's true by default)

If it's not the problem then I don't know what to do with it now.

You can use old version 1.0 that doesn't have insta modes and there are no customization options. Also you won't be notified about new versions. This is generally not recommended but if it's the only way you can use then do it :).

qlprism, i sometimes use it, but dont like 2 things: the forced irc-pop-up when u click on forum. and browsing the forum is also not so comfy as in FF ofc

It works well, but there are newer versions with more features so I added 'outdated' as a warning for others that read this thread to prevent them from installing it, because version 1.4 is better :]

i can only say that i still use v1.0 from ur post #32. the newer version isnt fixed in ff. im not clicking on the star every day. dunno whats up with this, maybe u can fix this. dunno bout prism, dont use it anymore.

i tried scriptish, but its the same. now i edited v1.0 so it shows ffa, ca, duel, tdm, dom, ft and rr - thats what i play. simple stuff, script worx super, good enough for me

Thanks for gathering new modes! I wasn't able to do that myself because of lack of time. This eased my job and the update is ready.

I changed order and captions of new modes as well as serwer browser window scaling to adapt to bigger modes bar.

You canno do it like that, because it is switching selection of combo box in Customize section. As you can check it is single-selection combo. If there is no such option as you want already you can't do with the script, in other words, if you cannot pick those modes in Customize togheter you cannot do it from code with this method.

There is a small chance that you can intercept other function or object and put there your hook to change behavior of the engine, but I would not waste time to try that out. Ask ID Software to do such filtering :))

No, but it is not bad idea. I can imagine it more like Save As button on Customize panel for currently set settings that adds new button to bar with modes. Sadly I don't have enough time to work on it though. If anyone is willing to contribute I will publish the update after reviewing it.
