Newegg deactivated

The microsoft official site says "Currently, we have no online dealers selling the Microsoft® IntelliMouse® Explorer 3.0"

I just checked 4 local stores and all of them deactivated the product. What is going on?
Is e-bay the only place to get one this days?

In the US Best Buy still has piles of the legends edition, since your average Best Buy shopper goes in there looking to buy a fucking Razer Naga or some other horseshit.

If you could find a way to make the Deathadder not weigh 40 lbs, that might be a suitable replacement.

I will take my chances. Until it no longer functions I will start looking for replacement. It was because of EsReality members I end up with IE 3.0 and it's probably the best mouse I ever had. Still got a Razer Diamondback that feels weird when I swap back to it.

So I just replaced my old 'black' (not really black, more dark silver) ime 3.0 because the mousewheel died...

...but all I could find is one of the 'legends' edition ones.

I now have shitty liftoff issues that I did not have with my old ime, is something else in my setup messing me up, or are the legends editions somehow different than the older 3.0s?

this one is really tracking too high, my old one did not track after liftoff AT ALL.

might just be the 'fresh' cord or something making the mouse sit weird, but doesn't seem like it.

any one have any ideas?

Mouse feet?

The legends edition should be functionally identical to the original as far as I know. If you had replaced the feet on your old one that could affect lift-off a little bit. Or maybe the legends feet are thinner.

Just a guess.

hey thanks for the suggestion.

the mouse feet seem the same though (use stock on both).

I think maybe the cord is just sitting funny. it points a little downward as it comes out of the mouse, touching the pad a bit...I think it is creating a slight 'bounce' when i pickup/putdown after a swipe, if that makes sense. just need to work it in probably...

never happened before either way. so annoying.

Had that too.
Just took 2 sets of glides (0.5mm) and doubled it.
flawlessly tracking and LoD is still low as FK/Respawn

I have a Legends Edition of the IE 3.0. It has hyperglides on it too, the mouse is barely used. It's worth a shot, but if anyone wants it and has a Zowie AM, I'm willing to trade. The AM is tricky to find in North America, and apparently the 3.0's are phasing out.

Or I'll just sell the 3.0. If you're interested let me know.

If anyone decides to pick one I'd say go for the special edition as they might have a nicer quality paint job. I love this mouse. Here is mine after years of use

Never had a problem or complaint against it's quality and I thought about painting it but the worn out robocop color gives it a great transition.
