It isn't compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. I remember being able to play the first Tribes on an old XP computer. However, I believe that the master server was permanently shut down.

I'm sure there's Win7 patches that solves video issues.

Google Tribes 1.40 and you should be able to run it on win7. There's a patch for vista that does work for win7 but only for the 1.11 build.

Tribes 1.40 or Playtribes is essentially the build IA/GarageGames was planning to put on the browser platform (ala quakelive). It was held on ice and eventually after the company went silent for a while, it was eventually leaked.

There's really no outlook for the game anyways, everyone just plays LT and the amount of cheaters/server mods is ridiculous. You will pretty much rarely find base T1 organized play.

There's no gameplay footage yet, the alpha isn't for another 3-5 months from now and it's mostly going to be testing for any flaws or issues that come along.

There's discussion on their forums, if you'd even call it that. You're bound to see strife within playerbases much like qw to q2 or q3 to q4.

I kinda thought people on this site would stray away from it due to the splashy spammy nature of combat in tribes2 (t2c grenade launcher being a prime of this).

It's being made by hi-rez studios, the guy's who made global agenda so I can't say I have much hope for the game.
