I think T7 is 100% playable. Hektik is a little small, maybe it could do without a rail.
dm13 is an oldschool map though, and that's screwed up cos its too small in QL, you can't rush MH or jump out the teleport.. it could be improved a lot by making it bigger and more like nodm9, especially since the movement changes.

Window Pain and Solid are total shit for the sole reason that they contain chain guns. That gun is horseballs and should be deleted from the interwebs.

Isn't that a ra3 map? I don't know why one would play an ra3 map in any gamemode but CA.

They are obviously designed for CA only.

3. Small online tournament uses it to see how the community likes it
4. Everyone drops the shitty new map.
5. Bigger league (COUGH ESL COUGH) sees smaller tournament using new shitty map, assumes community loves it.
6. All tournaments use shitty new map.

I was watching QuakeLiveTV's koth last night and requested they played the new map just for some fun (top marks to QLtv actually for doing these things).

The thing with the map [Gothic Rage] is cosmetically it looks quite nice but the narrow corridors and some weird geometry just kinda ruin it. Like a lot of brand new maps though (T7, Hektik, Battleforged etc) it has the potential to be a good duel map, it just needs tweaking. I honestly think that before ID release these maps (or at least duel maps) they should just let the focus group or at least some higher tier duelers bum around on the maps for a little bit and edit it accordingly.

Would top tier players test these maps w/o getting some payment from id? don't think so.

Cooller is a genius. He would make suggestions on the map that would cater to his style of play. So when it is released he will be all up in everyone's shit because he fucking designed part of it. LOL

nailgun looks fixed to me. Chaingun is such a weird gun. I can't tell how much damage i do with it, it needs something extra to balance it. BFG needs to be changed to something not gay.

How about it shoots a wide ass shot at people, think LG but instead of straight it would be length wise. So if you see a guy with BFG and he shoots at you, you need to duck or jump it like playing double dutch.

I don't think QL needs 'extra' guns like Nailgun/Chaingun/etc since we overall have almost perfect weapon balance and it's already a good weapon mixture - every weapon has it's own purpose and it's great.

The one weapon which needs a bit tweaking is PG :> Taking fights with PG vs LG/RL in mid range is just way too risky (unless you're avek or calipt), so it's only really working well in small areas/corridors and for the spam which kinda sucks . I'd like to see it being remade to something similar to Q4's hyperblaster, which worked perfectly imo :>
