Update: Following the communities wishes, the ESL changed the CTF Tournament format to 4v4

Today, the

ESL announced their three

QL Summer League Tournaments. There will be 4v4 TDM, 4v4 pro-TDM and 5v5 CTF competitions.

The ESL will be using their private QL server with the new competitive feature set, including Timeout, Team-Lock and Referees. Prizes will be Premuim acount and a special award.

The signups end on the 25th of July. and the Cups will start on the 27th of July. The mappool is still open for changes and will be decided by the official polls: TDM Vote - CTF Vote. So vote if you dont want that one leage to single handedly ruin QL TDM forever...

Well, won a premium account too with the ESL Osborne Cup but noone contacted me to give me the code or whatever they give to activate it :(

I know this is supposed to be a joke towards CB having qzdm20 in their mappool. But ESL should take an example of CB regarding CTF and it being 4v4, instead of 5v5. Playing CTF 5v5 is arguable more noobish and FFA than TDM on qzdm20. I thought ESL was trying to be a bit more professional and cater towards the "professional" gamers, yet they make this completely incompetant decision.

Any avid CTF player will see 4v4 is the way to go. The european community (or at least the top players of it) all agree on 4v4 and yet we still get the noob 5v5 format shoved down our throat.

Also there is a TDM and pro-TDM league, basically, noob and non-noob so people can choose. Yet ESL forces CTF noob settings by default, what's up with that? Can't ESL make a different 4v4 league or have the top division be 4v4? Either way, I hope the current top teams will refrain from playing the silly 5v5 format so the eyes of all leagues are opened once and for all and we can stop having this endless struggle...

True, when you look at the CB CTF summercup you see alot of TDM teams making the switch to CTF for fun. 4v4 CTF makes it easier for people to field a team or create a new clan and start playing.
