The Finals are now over for the play.com

UT3 National Championship at

PLAY.com Live at Wembley Stadium in

London.

16 duel players and 8 iCTF teams managed to qualify through the group stages to the finals where they fought it out for the first place prize of £20,000 for duel which

4K^hypno won and £30,000 for iCTF won by

Soulreapers/pure.gaming.

In a heart warming gesture killu and hypno agreed that winner took 15k and 5k went to 2nd place.

whats the point of spending hours and hours a day playing for months and months if 2nd place gets you nothing, i agree it makes the intensity of tournaments higher, but if this was how all tournaments were then i think the caliber of players would be lower

probably the biggest tournament ut3 will ever have and the coverage is worse than in an usual 8player pickup IRC cup...

i'll bet there won't be demos either since you have to enable serverside demorecording and i doubt the servers are in good hands over there.

I remember I logged in as admin and I actually recorded the demos of the final, the admins told us that all matches were being automatically recorded, but i truly doubt it tho. I just hope the demos that Im sure that I recorded are going to be up soon :)

Pre-event I had coded something up to tell the servers to auto record the matches, however somewhere along the way parts of the servers configs were lost/destroyed/overwritten (I'm guessing this is related to the issue where part way through the tournament the iCTF and 1on1 servers lost most of their settings). I'm still not entirely sure why this occurred, as no one modified the servers all weekend, unfortunately I didn't have the time to debug it during the event. I've uploaded the demo's from the final which were manually recorded, there are also some others, but I'll go through those soon.

Could you by any chance tell us which versions of the mutators you've been using? We're getting version mismatches when we try to download the mutduelremove thing :)

i don't mean to "lower" his 3rd place, but i want to show how close these games were. Those were really thrillers, until the very last minutes of the decider map, which shows how good majo and daddy can be, and how far they could of get, had they passed against my fellow frenchie :)

My game vs goh was very close too, at least on the first two maps :D
I'll get this bastard next time ;)
