None of them are working. All the "cracks" that are around at the moment are either newbie groups faking or random people spreading trojans. I'm sure it will be one of the usual suspects to eventually crack it but it'll probably take a few days.

I'm doing Cohen's masterpiece atm. Haven't played that much due to lack of time but I guess I'm about 10h of gameplay on hard and I've done all achivements so far. I'm not rushing it through.

When you run Process Explorer it loads procexp100.sys or something, but when you close it, it doesn't unload it. So in order to play the game, you have to reboot. Every time you use process explorer after that you have to reboot to play the game. I'm just going to wait 'til it's cracked. I love it how ripping the game off is more convenient than buying it.

It's an intentional (don't ask me why) feature they put into the game. Your OS or programs aren't at fault.

Yeah, it's part of SecuROM, loads of other games are affected, stalker is one off the top of my head... fucking stupid.

It's great how copy protection causes so much more pain to paying customers than anyone else.

The more I read and heard about bioshock the more I've thought it would be a dumbed down/easy/not as good version of System Shock 2.

SS2 is my favorite game ever but i have to admit it wasn't very hard. Especially when you find which skills and items are broken.

I never really did. I realized you can't survive without hacking, but that's about it. Hell, Shodan can only be won by hacking...

The thing with SS2 is I've never heard anyone just come out and say "well that was easy", it's like you don't even notice whether it's easy or hard. In comparison I've heard lots of people say it's easy.

Actually, I completed it thinking that it wasn't all that great, but then I read some of the plot synopses and rethought it, and I actually thought it had some great narrative.

I mean, yes, it gets repetitive. Too few enemy types, hacking was a bore and all that, but that wasn't the point. It's a story-based game, the combat's just icing.

I enjoyed it, anyway.

I played it for like an hour or two earlier and the atmosphere of the game so far has been awesome. It seems very doom3-like. I can see it getting a bit repetetive though, like Doom 3 did.

I had shitty mouse problems so I've stopped playing for the moment. The lowest sens wasn't low enough and whenever I went to do cursor based stuff like hacking or using the menu, it drops like 90% of the mouse input and skips really bad. Kinda frustrating. Guess I'll have to change my mouse settings in windows/drivers to play it. :<

Oh and the whole 'rootkit' thing was a load of crap afaik. The only security stuff that comes with it seems to be securom and an online activation. Get a mini-image from copyworld and a genuine cd key from a friend and you can play for freeeeeeee (CD-Keys allow activation on up to 5 different computers).

Ah well I'll just buy it then Irrational deserve it, SS2 was the best game ever for me and I promote all attempts to make games in that fashion!

You need the whole story. Don't judge it based on the demo or whatever, it really is quite unique. It has a coherent narrative from several points of view, plus it has a clear moral message. It's one of the most significant story-telling advances in recent history.

If Half-Life 2 had the narrative of an average action movie, BioShock has the narrative of a good novel.

I have a batch file with "HidePE100.exe -m Bioshock.exe" in it, works great :). After all that fucking with people, it took about a week to get a crack out, deffo worth it.

Can I have the batch file too? Was wondering why I couldnt install it, until I actually read the error msg and clicked the link.

When it gets to that point, don't click OK and rename the installation folder (C:\Program Files\2K Games\ or whatever), otherwise it'll delete the install. Then all you need to do is copy the cracked exe into the bin folder. That's if you're using a downloaded version, if you aren't, get that hidepe100.exe file and put it in your windows directory, then start > run > cmd, in tthere type "hidepe100.exe -m" and it should hide the driver from the entire system.

I like this game. I'm not finished yet, though I'm quite near the end. I don't really want to replay it and kill all the little girls. I'll let you do that.

The story isn't as good as people say it is. It's just good for a computer game, though it's nice how they play to the genre a bit and build their twist out of that. It's certainly the best computer game story I can recall. I just wouldn't read the book.

Also, you should never play a game on easy. I bought an xbox 360 elite last Tuesday, first game I put in was Bioshock (my first console FPS), and I put it on medium... I'm pretty good at the controller now, except for playing a game with such low sens. Seriously, we're reading a hardcore gaming site, what're you doing playing on easy? Sissy!

ALSO, I love my 46" HD TV.

i got halo 2 for some practise (works fine on 360)!

Personally I find that playing with a high sens and making small thumb movments actually helps my aiming considerably.

the AI is much better then doom3 AI which was shit, don't understand how some can compare this with the piece of crap which was doom3 singleplayer, only good things doom3 had in SP were some weapons (SG, CG and RL were pretty nice)
