The 450 dpi wmo's don't exist, 99% sure of that. People started talking about it here after I made a thread explaining why my wmo was 450dpi and not 400. I switched to a salmosa, which is 800dpi, and my sensitivity wasn't the same even after the math was done. When I did the math assuming the wmo was 450dpi, my sensitivity felt perfect. I then found out that it wasn't the wmo that was mis-reported as 450 dpi, it was the salmosa. I heard a lot of information about the Salmosa being 750dpi, and not 800 as they say it is. I believe that's where the confusion came about from that.

Jitter occurs on the wmo if you play an RTS game with a high sensitivity and high resolution. For FPS you should be fine.

Well since then I have measured my wmo at 400, my 3.0 at 42x and t1e measured his wmo at 43x. I think other people got 425ish as well.

Real cpi can differ depending on surface. I've noticed it reading avago ADNS-9500 specs (p.14). In this case it can go down to 1400 when the sensor is set to 1600 cpi. 200/1600 * 400 = 50, so it can be quite spread out in case of wmo.

Jitter? I play a lot of RTSes with a high resolution and it's flawless. I have an IMO1.1 but it's the same sensor IIRC.

Never heard of a RTS with an actual sensitivity setting though (they usually have settings for the camera panning and that's it).

Overclock it to 500hz USB and don't use a resolution above 1600*1200 or a sensitivity lower than 50cm/360. Then there won't be any issues.

Kazan is right. He uses 1600*1200 and 1600*1024 according to his latest cfgs. I think his mouse issues stem from the combination of cl_mousesenscap and the WMO's low dpi (on this resolution).

Don't know. I play at 1600x1200, always have and a WMO at about 31cm (no accel) and never had any problems.

Nah, they stem from a fucking bug that still hasn't been really fixed more than a year after the first reports.

There haven't been any tests to prove its a bug though.

Have fun testing randomness on the xxxxxxxx hardware/software/account combinations the people who still have to deal with it are using, I'm sure you'll get incredibly reliable results in 17 years once you're done.

It's my understanding all mice, including the WMO and friends, have some degree of prediction. As I spend alot of time playing browser based games, minimal angle snapping is preferable. Regardless of application, my resolution is 1920x1080.

400 CPI is my favorite setting, although I don't mind 200.
My sensitivity is 50 cm/360.

CM is releasing the Xornet soon with apparently an upgraded sensor. Razer fixed the Abyssus jitter issues a little while ago, but I hear there are still some older ones floating around. Haven't heard anything on a fixed Kinzu. If that's true, I'd be interested.

I'm sure, that Abyssus jitter on cloth mousepad, because level of prediction is too low.

I can't accord between 430DPI (WMO 1.1A) and Full HD.

In my opinion you should buy Abyssus, set 3500DPI and when you play PC games, reduce sensitivity in Abyssus Configurator to 1 (350DPI). Set 1000Hz and with HIDUSBF reduce to 500Hz.

At 400 cpi the count would be a 63.5x63.5 micrometer square (afaik optical would be a square picture). Although quite small, it's still just 1/15 of a millimeter.

The more "imperfections" there are the easier it should be for the sensor to know that the mouse has moved.

I would think that a surface with no imperfections, or rather with imperfections that are smaller than the smallest detail the camera can pick up wouldn't track at all since no movement could be perceived.

Hitting negative acceleration is similar to using a mouse with the Avago 9500. You may be able to play good, but your potential is likely to increase using a sensor that provides solid linear tracking.

I have to remember that the mouse world is full of preferences and opinions. Just because I think a certain way, doesn't mean others follow the same ideology. I mean hell, I used a 3.0 myself for a good 5 years.

Ask yourself what do you prefer. Negative accel and greatest feeling ever, or mouse with jitter (lottery) and worse feeling, but without noticeable acceleration.

I also don't know which one is better for me, but I stay with my WMO 1.1A and wait for something like Abyssus rev. 2 or Black Edition. :)

Shouldn't recommend a mouse based on the "feeling", thats a pure subjective measure. And obviously a change in shape will have give a different feeling, but you'll get used with time.
Abyssus jittering probably not related to pad, it's just because you got an old firmware unit.

If you don't play dynamic FPS games (CS, BF, AA), you should buy WMO 1.1A because OS MLT 04 (sensor) has the greatest feeling ever.

If you play dynamic FPS (Q3, UT3) you should buy Abyssus, because OS MLT 04 has got negative acceleration (only one issue of this sensor).

If you can agree negative accel (imperceptible in normal game in my opinion) you should get WMO 1.1A.
