tbh i feel like the problem lays with the low level players themselves, i've talked to many who are interested in playing tdm but just want to join a well established clan and go straight to div1 or some shit, i dont see why 4-6 "div 4" players cant create a clan together and raise their level...

it's like the current generation of gamers need everything to be made for them, instead of making it happen. or they are just gold diggers who want to join a clan above their level to be e-famous :D

join your national quakelive channel on irc, browse low lvl clans on tournament sites and join their irc channel to ask if they need trials, form a new clan with frieds.. its not hard

obviously it could be made easier if sites such as clanbase were as active as back in the day, looking for members in forums etc. this could actually be easily implemented into QL site itself where you can mark yourself as looking for clan. then clans/players can find others who are looking for a clan, do some basic judgements on activity/skill from the profile and go from there...

frs: yeah I agree with you. problem is that i didn't know where to look. i'm not looking for an easy way to the top or anything like that, I just want to play quake live with a few people who knows somewhat what they're doing and have ventrilo/ts.

i honestly think it's the nature of how quake live is set up in regards to servers. I remember when I used to play a lot of CSS, there were always different public clan servers and shit, where if you played a lot on them, and did well, you would get noticed and possibly invited. or you could just strike up a conversation with any of the clan members on the server and ask them.

i'm not saying this can't happen in QL, but it would be a lot more rare. especially on the european severs, considering how many people don't even want to speak english at all.

tdm on publics is beyond horrible, hope you find a clan and discover the beautiful nature of quake tdm :)

I'm actually looking for a low skill tdm team to start playing tdm, I've mostly been playing duels and would like to start practising tdm too. If you need another player for the team you join or build I'd be happy to play with you guys :)
btw I come from a team game (mohaa) and was playing in the eurocups and nationcups on clanbase, so I'd say I know the basics of teamplay :)

i'm from norway, but I don't care about where the clan is based as long as they speak the same language (norwegian/english) and my ping is ok :)

You could also find a channel with Teambot or just join #teambot to get a feel of which clans are active and looking for "low" competition. Join their channels and have a chat. Also join #quakelive.no and get to know people. Maybe you could get something going.

I was start thinking they removed the fkin query thing, but then i noticed it's not there anymore

just gather some of the people you've gotten to know so far and go for it, the chans dlx posted are a good starting point to get into lower skilled tdm, just talk to some of the people there when you have managed to get a team together.
