Over on GGL.com ReDeYe has posted his world ranking of players across the major dueling games. The idea is that all 1v1 FPS players regardless of their game of choice are ranked based on a rolling 12 months of lan tournaments to establish the top 100 among them.

The ranking is similar in formula to the ATP Entry System, which is used in tennis as an objective, merit-based method used for determining qualification for entry and seeding in all tournaments.

Various duel tournaments are ranked by our GGL evaluation panel from Rank 1 to Rank 12, based on a subjective evaluation of its prestige and top competitors in attendance, along with its prize purse. Depending on the ultimate determination of the event’s rank value, players are awarded rating points based on their performance in those particular tournaments.

For example, the CPL World Tour finals was one of the most important events in gaming this year, sporting a prize purse of $500,000 and profuse media coverage. It was considered a Rank 1 tournament in The Redeye Report evaluations, and its respective winner, Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, was awarded 92 points for winning. The runners-up received 79 points, while bronze medalists got 67 points.

The current leader of the table if none other than Netherlands Sander "Vo0" Kaasjager followed by United States of America Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel. The top ten of the chart is mostly populated by PainKiller players but there are also Quake players Russia Anton "Cooller" Singov, Sweden Magnus "fox" Olsson and Sweden Johan "Toxic" Quick in it along with Netherlands Laurens "Lauke" Pluijmaekers who earned points in UT2004 tournaments.
