[hide=Intro:]After some considerations from our staff, we decided to raise the playerlimit for the ESO2 Warcraft III tournament to 40. This decision was made because we feel there are more top players around then just the 16 previously invited.
Some players from the first 16 have dropped out due to the fact that the WCG is right around the corner (and they use ROC, while we use TFT). But after some long days and hard work we were able to get 40(!) players to show you what they've got!

Eight poules, each with 5 players.
First two from each poule, go on to the single elimination bracket.
The poule stage is only 2 maps (each player picks his map) and the single elimination bracket is best of 3.
If two players are tied for second place in their poule, one decisive map will be played (on one of the remaining maps).

Groupstage:
The poule stage is only 2 maps (each player picks his map) and the single elimination bracket is best of 3.
Winner gets 3 points, losers 0 points and if both players win 1 map they both get 1 point.
If two players are tied for second place in their poule (we will first look to results between players), one decisive match will be played between these players. First map is fixed per round.
PlayOffs:
Before the game starts, both players pick 1 map they wish to play. Both players eliminate 1 map from the 3 remaining maps if the third map is needed.
No map can be played twice, except in the group stage if both players pick the same map as their homemap.
The final will be a best of 5, played on ALL 5 maps. Both players pick their first map and after that they eliminate 2 maps, third map will be the map left. After that the loser from the third game picks the 4th map from the 2 remaining maps. Then there is 1 map left, which will be used as the decisive map if needed.
The 5 maps which are being used are the following:

a. Lost Temple (ROC version)
b. Floodplains 1v1
c. Gnoll Wood
d. Turtle Rock
e. Two Rivers

No players are seeded and all players are put randomly in poules (players with the same clantag are not in the same poule).
When the poule stage is finished, the number 1 of one poule will meet the number 2 of another poule.

Shoutcast is in hands of TSN, so this has been taken care of.
