The Swedish UT2 qualifier is done, coverage was non existant and they seemed to have some delay problems - no TTM, no bonuspacks and non patched UT2003 versions, but the staff managed to get hold of everything after an hour or two. I also heard (not sure if it's true) that they were not allowed to record demos because the servers would crash if they did, or something strange like that so I guess we won't be seeing any demos. While I don't have the exact scores I just got oft the phone with fazz and can tell you guys who won!
1. Viruz-Znatch
2. iN-Jesus
3. Viruz-Cata / Viruz-Hist
So it's finally time for Znatch to go to Korea, he placed second in the Scandinavian UT qualifier -01. And practiced a lot UT1 for the qualifier last year which was canceled or something like that. I'm certain he would have made a huge impact if he had been allowed to go. blablabla anyways,
im not sure about the actual scores or maps but someone on IRC said he won Campgrounds 11-10 and Ironic 6-5.
Znatch is imo one of the most impressive players in the scene, he is usualy stuck on a crappy chello cable connection and doesn't play very much at all, but put him on lan for a day or two and soon enough he will out smart you, out aim you and just plain annoy you with whatever gun he gets his hands on. (Like he did to both me and 2kr when we lanned before ESWC.) Oh well, enough with the fanboy rambling, Congrats znatch!
About the third place, it was not double elimination so I'm not sure who Jesus beat to get to the finals, but I'm pretty certain Cata is better then whoever it was so I'll just feel content leaving him as 3rd :P, (edited now because of hist whining :)
Anyways I guess someone who knows more than I do will make some kind of complete newspost about the Swedish wcg quali tomorrow
