After persuation from some of you and an impressive stats list I bought the intelli explorer 3.0 the other day. I've been playing with it for the past two days and I'm quickly getting used to it. Compared to the Logitech Pilot wheel ball and optical I had previous, this mouse feels alot more solid on the matt, probably due to it being wider. I also noticed instantly of how responsive and accurate it was over my pilot.
After a few games of Q3 I put it to the "skip test". Microsoft claim it can track at 37inch per second rather than older models and the Logitechs tracking at 14inch per second. To be honest I was pretty confident I'd be able to make it skip but after 5 or 6 vigurous swoops of the mouse across my allsop pad it didn't miss a beat. Very impressed.
The only things I don't like about it are that the buttons are light, or at least they are lighter than the Pilot ones, once or twice I've pressed buttons when I've not ment to - I'm sure I'll get used to it. The other thing is that its bigger than the Pilot, this helps in that it feels more solid and stable but you have to move your hand a little more to get the same movements as with the pilot would have taken a little less effort.
All in all I'm well impressed with the intelli mouse explorer 3.0, its very smooth, accurate and solid and is the first optical I've used that doesn't have a skipping problem. Still, for the price you'd expect it to be awsome though wouldn't you? (£49.99)
