fox and fooKi back in Q3 (22 comments)

( Major Forum: Q3)

Karl 'fooKi' Johansson and Magnus 'fojji' Olsson made the day for the Swedish Quake 3-community, as they have announced their participation in the Swedish ESWC-qualifier at DreamHack this June.

The two players were a part of the Swedish "newschoolers" that succeeded the early champions Blue and LakermaN. The former SK-duo was also part of the Swedish National Team, that took gold at ESWC 2004 after a victory over USA in the Grand Final. Magnus 'fojji' Olsson has been named the favourite to win the Swedish qualifier, but he hasn't been featured in an official match for over a year.

The rest of the signups for the qualifier also includes the oldschool legend Cyrus 'proZaC' Malekani, aswell as the DreamHack 2nd place-finisher from 2006; Sebastian 'Spart1e' Siira.

You can see all the signups at Rakaka.se (in Swedish).

I just play a little for fun and I don't expect to get too many frags vs the top.

Just have fun and play gay, the game hasn't changed, a few hours and you'll be back into it.

nothing personal but i hate that attitude. Either you participate and try to compete or you stick to spectating and give someone else a chance.

I assume its just to tone down expectations.

Everyone is free to sign up for the qualification, so I don't see the problem with just playing for fun. As for masters, if I get picked I'll try to play as much as I can before the event. When people go "yey you are going to do so well", can you blame me for trying to lower the expectations a little, given the fact that I pretty much get raped 4 games out of 5?

Ok, as I thought then. Well if you aren't gonna make any remarkable effort to reach a performancelevel that you can compete with; are you still going to Paris for the Master's tournament?
Also I'd like to know if you are still eligible to compete at dreamhack eventhough you were picked for Master's?

Tacksam för svar =)

The original plan was to not train so much and go to the qualifier and have some fun. Since I got an invite to masters, the plan has changed :]. I'm gonna play many hours every day to be able to compete in Paris and I'm still going to the swe qualifier.

What's the point of going to the qualifier if you're picked already? Or are there more ESWC Q3 tournies?
