wch rapes you sus cunts.

you wanna remove the last word ? O_o

Why? It's our favorite part of the human anatomy!

using less offensive word maybe might help

i used it before and I recall you finding it funny :(

maybe i was just laughing at you !!! :P

my feelings are destroyed once again =[

*hug* j/k ;)

Excuse KidChicago, he does not know his crime.

Soul: Keep it to #nesreca mate ;)

fuck that, bring on the abuse cunts.

that's nice.

i hope all the australian players are happy now :D

All 7 of them.

yeah maybe the one's that aren't 6 hours flight from perth

err, did you even read that?

A series of Australia-wide semi final tournaments will be coordinated by Ping Events, and hosted by major LAN gaming groups in each state of Australia. The finalist from each of these events will be flown to Perth, Western Australia, to participate in the Australian National Qualifier.

Yes, that may be the case however most of the Q3 scene is situated on the East Coast.

It's a 4 hour flight from Sydney to Perth.

Expect the numbers at the National Finals to be lower then if they were.. lets say, in Sydney or Brisbane.

First of all why the hell put an event on the other side of the planet, start putting them in europe if you want any players. And second thing why don't just switch back to quake 4, q3 is a flop.

rofl

edited: i just KNEW it was veritas who plussed that hillarious comment :P

scch , q4 is better than q3 everyone knows that.

OH SNAP

We've just been attacked by all 17 members of the angry q4 clique :O

We shall bring those criminals to justice!!!

well given I do enjoy q4 tdm and ctf etc. Still, sadly q3 > q4 by far heh

LOL!

I guess Sweden and Italy are no longer in Europe.

Sweden - http://www.cplnordic.com
Italy - http://thecpl.teamplay.it

CPL Nordic is a joke, it hasn't got any prizes, except for the winner who gets travel+accomodation payed to the CPL finals.

Can someone tell me CPL arranged an event without prizes last time?

edit; I was so looking forward to this CPL event, as this one is the only I really can afford to go to without risking my economy.

Pretty stupid with no money in Sweden when they had money in Singapore.

hahahaha, nice one.
HF Aussies.

there you go australian q3ers
make us proud by making this the event you kept dreaming off!

The event I dreamed of would be on the East Coast of Australia.. not a 4 hour flight away :(

But it'll do.

would like to have your problems...

go phyton!

Nah, Pythons' got nothing on DasBok :D

:( big sux :(

Anytime you want a game mate, any time

anyone notice that the australia and the italy tourneys are on the same dates?

anyone honestly think this is any sort of a conflict?

Australian Finals is a National Event

Italian Finals is an International Event

angel.. brazil is final and national event?

Do any of you guys ever Read the posts or do you look at the Topic and go "Flame" stfu fools.

Go Touji and Python and ventz :D

some one might wana update the initial post with this:
Shafted LAN has agreed to run a Cyber Athletes Professional Qualifier for Quake 3 on behalf of PING at the upcoming Game1 300 Player Event on 4th-5th of November.

Game1 will be running on the 4th-5th of November at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre (2 Clarendon St, Southbank). Running from 10AM on the Saturday overnight to Sunday 5PM.

The finalist of this event will qualify for the Australian National Qualifier in Perth, Western Australia. They will receive free airfare and accomodation to compete in Perth and a chance to qualify for the CPL Championship Finals, taking place December 16-20, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. Prize money will be announced shortly.

SlashQuit's post

I actualy got it from Ping Events

Congrats to Python on winning the australian CPL qualifier.

Be interesting to see how the WA boys play on home soil though..

Expect a good show from ventz and touji.

Don't get too excited the CPL will find a way to make it all turn to crap. I still can't understand that if they want to hold retro tourneys for the better game then why not use QW, it is the better game. QW > Q4 > Q3. Pong anyone?

Only if its 3d pong.

3D , far too modern, 2D forever !

dont start

WAT IST HIER LOUS?

nice news! because i believe in australia there are more fps interested people than in some asian parts of the world.
but its true, europe is big in quake and in poland or france,
germany or in russia to name a few strong fps countries you could held a minimum 32players tourney even without the poeple who can afford an expensive flight or travel costs. but who have played fps games long enough to make it a nice tournament.
not to mention the proplayers who most like europe and the near
distances and they know most of the time where to stay around here or to practice.
although its a good thing to establish new grounds - but first use the countries that have the faith and the comunity and backround in fps games imo - so the main parts should be na and europe with only few stops outside these regions. and then only in the parts where much interest is shown in quake and cs1.6

Update from Garry Carroll from PING.

We now have confirmed semi-finals running in the following states:

If you are in these states, please pop by our site for links and more information. If you are in a state that is not currently represented, contact your local gaming group or gaming cafe and ask them to contact us.

Gazza better find someone to do NSW and QLD, otherwise hes not going to get more then 6 players at the national event.

I can't make the Melboure one :( its the day before my final exam at Uni :(

Am going to try and make Hobart or Sydeny tho, I will not let this slip apst me!

26th of November is my birthday :S

Well isn't that a cool birthday present then? (mines 25th :P)

;) nice.

It's a long way from New Zealand to Perth but it's the closest thing to come down this way so far, so what the hell :D Flying over on the 23rd ^^

Qualifier Results:

Andrew "Python" Cha Cha (NSW),
Brett "KMT" Mansfield (TAS),
Pablo A. "Xio" Godinez (Vic)
Jesse "uNhoLee" Jarrad (SA)

Apparently NSW was v. poorly run, sure the Q4 fanboys will love that.. but congrats to all those guys and GL in the Finals....

The ones to watch Ventz, Robo-Kill, kmt and ofc chacha.

it sounds like the national final is only going to be between the state semi-final winners...i think a lot of people had the impression that the state champions just won a trip to play in the 200 spot WA tournament, but that's just going to be another semi-final, and the winner of that will be added to the list of qualifiers, and will do battle on sunday.

so all you people who were planning to fly over, it might be worth investigating things a bit more :)

er..

LOL.

These guys (PING.org.au) better wise up if they are planning on putting Australia on the map for the 2007 world tour.

if that is so - that is retarded ;/

I just hope it's fun :)

gl hf :D

Quake 3 Semi-Final and Final Notes:
Any user configs should be submitted to final (at) ping.org.au prior to the event (pref by wednesday), as well as links to any drivers you wish to use on the competition machines. These will be stored on a central mapped server, and should be copied back during your setup time prior to each match. Where applicable, you will use the same machine during rounds, unless you are too close to an opponent, in which case a coin will be flipped to decide the moving competitor.
Competitors can bring their own devices (limited to keyboards, mice, mousepad, headphones). Storage devices are not permitted to be used on the competition machines. Demos will be made available after the final rounds of both the semi-final and final on a central server. All files to be copied onto the competition machines must come from the read-only central server, and will be checked by the organisers.

-From redflag's site

I dunno where the 8th player is coming from...

1. xio
2. unholee
3. chacha
4. kmt
5. WA semi-final 1st place
6. WA semi-final 2nd place
7. WA best-placing female semi-final entrant
8. ???!

Also, they will be using 1.39 :)

Shame QLD missed out, thanks Ping. :s

This year seems to have been a slap together job due to the late notice - which is fair enough.

Next year things should be smoother (you would assume anyway). We can only hope for the best I guess ;)

That was a super fun experience :) I just got back to New Zealand and I'm completely exhausted.

I know what to expect for my next international tournament and I know what it feels like to compete at a higher level now =) I'm definitely going to learn from this and I'm probably going back over for the ESWC Qualifier for Quake4 on 30th March :)

5th isn't too shabby eh? :D

NZ doesn't even have a cpma server lol

ahaha :l
