Splash Damage explains how they made the transition from mod's to making commercial games with id Software. They discuss how they first contacted id Software, the mistakes they made during their transition to a real company, and personal skills that helped them form a successful company.

United Kingdom Locki, the SplashDamage leader speaks for most of the video, starting off with their days working on the Q3F mod, transitioning to their work on the Wolfenstein Doom3 multiplayer maps, and their best known accomplishment, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. For anyone who has followed this group of talented game designers since their days working on the Q3F mod for Quake3, this chat will be very interesting. The video runs a little over an hour.

Many of you may probably remember the video Deception by Tchouky that was released sometime in 2004. Well, after a long two year gap, he decided to stop being lazy and make us all at Shaolin Productions very proud again :)

The result is Anti-Conformist, a frag, trick, Quake 3 vid(!!!) where he displays his really cool bot programming skills once again. If Visor could do 3x RJ's, maybe Mynx can dance. Expect some fragging that is probably impossible to do without the scripting as well. In short, it is a pure visual treat that is definitely worth checking out. hf.

[23:00] <+uv-Max-> isn't the term, non-conformist? :O
[23:00] <@sp^fei> no, we are being anti-conformist by not conforming to the conformist way of naming the non-conformist.

Duration : 6 minutes
Codec : x.264

More mirrors and an Xvid version coming soon.

This is a short video showing how the Half-Life 2 total conversion mod Eclipse looks and plays.

Eclipse is developed by a bunch of students as a project that lasted five months in total, the only update that has been released is to make it playable on lower spec systems with cards like nVidia GeForce 2.

The story and gameplay has nothing to do with the HL universe and looks nothing like it. It's a fantasy game where you control the young woman Violet from a third person perspective, but it's not like World of Warcraft or the Diablo series games, because you have to aim and move properly like in FPS games to survive and make use of your magical skills.

Unfortunately, it's a very short game, but it's good as long as it lasts, and after you've played through it, you get access to a mini game where you try to survice on one map as long as you can to get a higher score while enemies keep spawning to take you down.

Nothing more to say enjoy and be sure to download this mod and give it a go your self :)

Visit the Eclipse website (not always up though..)

Or get it at ModDB.

For screenshots from the video, check FileFront.com.

So i went through a few demo's and a captured a few frags, and put them to some music. Nothing major, only spent a week on it. Some people think the vid is awesome for q4, others don't like the music. But whatever no big deal to me. I just know that people enjoy watching pro's do what they do best in high quality with some music to add to the fun. So here it is, enjoy.

After the released information that VALVE is going to release Team Fortress 2 along with Half-Life 2 - Episode 2. Some more informations are ariving.

It was unsure if that group image is just rendered or ingame, on one website a valve member answerd that this is in fact ingame.

As ETF player, I am not sure what to think. One website wrote, that all we can see is the map 2forts and everything looks like Toy Story (which does not bother me). With that trailer I can't tell what kind of physic model is used. crossing fingers that it is still TF style.

I guess we have to wait until real ingame footage from players.

EDIT: I guess new informations are going to show up here at http://ep2.half-life2.com/ including informations about HL2EP2, TF2 and Portal.

From Steam News:
Team Fortress 2, an all-new version of the title that spawned team based multiplayer action games, features the most advanced graphics of any Source-based game released to date. Players choose from a range of unique character classes such as medic, spy, sniper, or engineer and must work together to complete a variety of tactical objectives.

This is the last video interviews conducted by myself of the Intel Summer Championships, this time of the Canadian powerhouse Canada Jake 'xlo^Mojo' Valianes. Mojo's not exactly known for his Quake playing but has traveled to dozens of events around the world in the past couple years. He gives his thoughts on the ISC and how it could be improved for future events. Special guest appearances are made by Netherlands tek9.forever and Sweden fnatic/PURRI.
