The event will have tournaments in Diabotical on Friday, followed by CPM and Quake Champions on Saturday. The event has a focus more towards having fun and getting together instead of tryharding. The stream provided will be predominantly in Finnish.

The mice themselves come in three categories:

A) 3 of the 8 mice are of an older period and more worn than the others. (The ones with silvery icons on the buttons.) One of these mice has some sort of non-stock mousefeet to them and the rest have stock feet.

B) 4 of the 8 mice are newer and I'd personally advertise them as "good as new" (Orange icons on the buttons.) These all have stock mousefeet.

C) 1 of the 8 mice is brand new, in a sealed box. SOLD

A draft tournament means that although the game type is 4v4 TDM you don't sign up as a team. Instead, every player who wishes to play in the tournament signs up individually and states, whether or not he would like to act as a captain.

On a given date (in this tournament the 17th of June) the sign-ups close and the captains "draft" a player on his/her team one by one. This leads to some extent fairer teams than the usual approach.

The teams formed this way are then used to battle out against each other in friendly games of CPM TDM. The actual system (Round-robin groups, Elimination brackets etc.) will be decided later, since it is hard to estimate the number of teams.

1) At 11:00 CDT, 10 June 2012, the sign-ups close. Captains should join #cpmtdmdraft.

2) At 11:15 CDT the captains for the cup are announced and are given 15 minutes to come up with a name and to create an IRC channel for his/her team.

3) At 11:30 CDT the captains start picking players.

4) When you're picked by a captain, you're given an IRC channel in a private message. Join that channel and leave #cpmtdmdraft.

5) When all the players have been picked the drafting stage is over. From this point onwards, the captains of the teams are responsible for communicating with the admins and with the players on his/her team.

6) The actual tournament takes place on 09:00 CDT, 10 June 2012. The system depends on the amount of teams, and will be announced later. The tournament is meant to be held over a course of one day.

The tournament started at approximately 16:15 CET, 15 mins later than planned. This was due to some teams missing players, which later led to those teams having to drop out. (namely ddk's team, sandslott, who had only 2 of their 6 players show up in time.)

gaiia was busy playing his own games, and selfishly neglected updating the scores, much to the dismay of esc|eThaD, captain of the russian invasion! team. The groups finally got played, and two teams from each group made it through.

Group A saw the triumphant russian invasion! team win all of their games and WeHeartPandas securing the 2nd play-off spot, while Group B was a thriller to the last map.

After a small mistake in gaiia's maths ( one of the many ), the last match between Innit2Winnit and rill ni66az was to decide who would get the 2nd play-off spot. Innit2Winnit was safe and had secured their play-off spot, but the battle between rill ni66az and f-f-f-fight! was still ongoing.

The thriller turned out to be way more complex than what it was thought to be, with rill ni66az winning their game vs Innit2Winnit 2:1, allowing them to take the 2nd play-off spot from Group B. Or they could've taken, but instead they had to give it to f-f-f-fight! because their players actually have lives and had to go to bed.

The semi-finals were then played between russian invasion! and f-f-f-fight! and WeHeartPandas and Innit2Winnit. After tense matches, f-f-f-fight! and WeHeartPandas made it through to the finals. If someone watched the finals and wants to do a recap, you are strongly encouraged, but I myself cannot do it, because I was busy doing other stuff and falling asleep on stream.

Overall, I think this cup was a success. Even though we predictably had our fair share of drop-outs, I think the number of sign-ups (86 players total) shows that CPM is not a game with 17 players, at least when the PK community joins us for mutual gain.

I thought the teams were pretty evenly matches, and most games were exciting to watch/play. I'm also grateful for server admins co-operating with me regarding maps and other stuff.

I'm very glad that we had a good stream provided by nineX and wonko, and also a chav version provided by b5k, Liam and _8bitlobster.

I am also very grateful for the understanding and kindness towards me, even though I was doing a poor job of keeping the scores updated/operating GTV/bla bla.

Maths. Learn it. I miscalculated stuff so many times during the cup.

Delays. It's inevitable, but still something to apologize for. I think the cup should not have been started earlier, but I have to think through some stuff more thoroughly for the next tournament. I'm also sorry for the slow creation of brackets, ESR posts and all the other shit I forgot to do, or eventually did a few days late.

Not sticking with my original decisions, and trying to please everyone. This is the main reason the map pool for the cup was changed 4 (yes, that's four) times over the course of less than two weeks. I apologize for the effort you guys put in to practicing maps, which did not make it to the final map pool.

The teams have a week to practice, and on the 29th of April at 16:00 CET (NOTE: time changed from original post) the tournament starts. The system is going to be two 6-team groups, out of which 4 teams (that's 4 teams TOTAL so 2 teams out of each group) make their way out into the single-elimination brackets.

After all the group games have been played, two teams from both groups advance to a single elimination bracket. After the semi-finals the bronze match is played first, and then the final game.

Rokky played a solid game throughout the tournament and deserved the gold medal. The accused wallhacker gaiia came in to the finals from the Lower Bracket, as he had been defeated in the 2nd round by Terifire. The couple met again in the semi-final, and this time gaiia came out on top. The finals were supposed to be Bo5 with rokky starting with a 1:0 lead, but because it was so late and the KGB was watching, we decided to play it in Best-of-Three format instead.

The Finals started with rokkys mappick akumacpm1a. After some pretty convincing control (18 RAs compared to gaiias 4..) he defeated gaiia with a 12 to 5 score, while gaiia couldn't do much about it. 1:0 for rokky and he had the momentum going in to the 2nd map of the finals.

Up next was gaiias mappick industrial. On this map the armors were spread amongst more evenly amongst the combatants, with gaiia grabbing slightly more of the precious ones. The scores, however, did not reflect the gap between the players all that well. With a 65% RG gaiia took the win 21 to 5 and had good momentum going in to the final game, which was to be picked by rokky. The scores were tied at 1:1.

His choice was eizdm4-b15, a map that was probably one of the most popular ones in the tournament. Looking purely at the armor and health pickups and weapon accuracies, it's hard to tell which came out on top. Rokky got more YAs and MHs and shot RG with the better hit percentage, and gaiia took more RAs and GAs while boasting better accuracies on all the other weapons. The match was tight until the very last seconds. Rokky was overall the better player and dealt more damage as a result of a few successful ambushes and some nice rails. The Finn had to rely on +back and lucky spawnkills which did not turn out very well for him. Rokky took the map 10 to 9 and thus winning the finals 2:1.
