I wish I could help you, but it seems they are only laggy on some peoples machines and not on others. If I could figure that out, I guess iD or raven would hire me...

I'm also sick that at every demo post, people are whining because one of their things didn't work... Get all maps, read before complaining, it's not that hard, never had any problem with a demo except first q4max0.71@cpl... You know what, instead of complaining here or somewhere else, i open my console, type demo and then press tab. I saw that demo_enforceFS, i test, it work perfectly (lag is another thing), so you better learn to solve problems by yourselfs fucking noobish guys !!

I am getting some demos laggy as well (including this one) that do not have scoreboards or can't tell who we're following. These are bugs and not our fault. There are a number of people with the exact same problem.

Voting 0 just because YOU cant figure out how to run demo's is not very polite :/ I dont know why I bother uploading them...

I voted 0 cos you can't see the score and witch players pov we are following. It has nothing to do with you and are not your fault. Its quake4's.

To the french anonomys: U really must be retarded to think all the people having different problems with demos can fix this by typing demo_enforceFS "1".

I've had problems ever since Q4MAX 0.7 CPL, and i've tried every trick people have listed. The only thing remaining is reinstalling Quake4, getting a new crappy config etc.

Agree, demo_enforceFS "1" didnt't help at all wih my demo trouble.

What I don't get is that some demos run and some not. The cpl demos were running just fine. Then I tried demos from the EC 1v1. Didn't work at all in first place. Now this demo works....Seems kinda random...

From day to day I start hating Q4 more and more. :x

My guess is that it has something to do with net settings or the netcode.

Demo works fine here but it's a little laggy in places, I only ever get real smooth demos from the players POV.

Anyway... the demo was nice to watch!, having watched Purri at CPL winter you could see he was still quite new to the game. You can see that Purri is practising more now and has nice combination of skills using weapons. It's nice to see St.Germain being a true sportsman and admitting defeat this time, Im sure he will gain revenge soon =)

U need a fuckload of stuff and even if you bother finding and installing it, the demo will still probably not run for you because of some bs like outdated keyboard driver. Welcome to the qu4ke world.

does purri not put in much practice time? this game just seems soo low caliber for someone who was a "legend" in Q2 (some skills should transfer over tho?). Just looks like weak control, bad decisions, and average aim.

I know what you mean, but I think his rail was pretty decent on map 1, st.germain certainly thought so too.

Every time I see Purri play Q4 duel he just seems to almost "ignore" controlling the armours and just focuses on out-railing his opponent. Immortal seems to play this way too.

I don't know if it's their play styles or not but... a lot of people seem to play the game the way that has the highest chances of winning (normally exploiting gameplay/map errors). Then you have players who play their own style, like cooller. I've experienced something similar in a pool game I play online. Recently a patch was released changing the physics of the game (greater chance to miscue) and immediately many people had problems... but a few players that didn't exploit things like extreme spin had no problems adjusting and are now well ahead of the curve.

Virtual Pool 3... by far the most realistic pool simulation ever made. The community is small and has players that have been playing since it's release almost 6 years ago. Most of these guys play irl and you can tell from their playstyle. It really isn't the same as those yahoo pool games. VP3 is to pool what Quake is to FPS games - the only real option for the purists.

what do i need to get started (other than the game of course)? i play a lot of snooker irl and i love good pool/snooker simulations. i loved the first virtual pool at that time but i haven't really played anything else after that. sounds like fun, especially a pool game where there are chances of a miscue :O

I don't think it can be pirated. Then get gamespy arcade and after it's installed and you've set GSA to work with VP3 you can play games all day long in the lobby. Not that there are hundreds of players... it just has an international group of players so someone is always on.

In the most recent version they have changed the masse physics slightly so trick shots are harder. The miscue thing is great. I wasn't sure at first but now it makes perfect sense. Everyone is learning to play with stun properly so the game feels and looks like the real game.

VP3 has snooker too btw. Beware though, the miss rule isn't accounted for. There are a few players who get centuries often.

It's well worth the small investment (you'll make it up on all the money you save not needing to goto halls anymore ;p). One more thing to note aswell: the developers are still listening to the community and developing the game, 6 years on.
