fuck the ram and spend the extra 50 quid to ensure you can afford a SECOND HAND 6800 gt off ebay. For a game like q4 it's really worth the extra memory.

You can pick up a 256 piece of ram for about 10 quid. having 1024 over 512 is < having a 6800 gt over a 6600 GT.

So for 160 quid you'll get so much more and definitely have enough power to run it pretty well IMO. buying a 6600 GT and spending a 1/3 of your budget on RAM is not the best way to use your ltd funds.

And trust me, if you're 300 quid in debt you're rich compared to a lot of people!
The 6600 gt might well be fast enough as I had one for doom 3 and it did well a lot of the time, but you really asre cutting it fine. With a 6800 Im sure you'll be fine.

This will probably go for less than 150, I have seen them go for 130, just depends.

no no, although 1024 is desirable, 512 would do for now, it's better to spend more money on the GPU than ram, cuz if the 6600 gt is under powered, then you'll have to buy a dif GFX card, so it's best to just bite the bullet now.

I ran 512 for a long time under doom 3 and when I replaced it with 1024, I had less than a 1 FPS more in timedemo and I did not notice anything else in game. Maintaining 60 FPS > loading up a level .5 of a second quicker.
