I noticed cooller deleting demos from his pc when I shook his hand to say goodbye. I think the only cooller demos will be from GTV recorded :)
All other Quake3 final demos are on clanbase.

Watching fox play how he did makes you wonder why he hasn't won and big 1v1 competitions? Through all of the players I've seen he has the most complete package for me in terms of aim, timing, intelligent play etc.

And fox is a top dueler and a top TDM player, just not the best dueler. But that does not make you a nontop dueler.

Indeed. The question was why he hadn't "won" anything though but, you're both right :) Definately one of the best (if not the best) TDM players and he proved himself in 1v1 with the ESWC's.

Didn't really explain myself too well. I was talking along the lines of monster TDM like fox/toxic/mikes I am sure there are others but I don't play TDM at all.

CZM was a well established tdm player before he was considered a top dueler.

So being god like at both is achievable. He has done it in 3 different game types as well.

1v1, TDM and CTF.

I guess it's kind of like in Tennis, where there's a lot of very good 2on2 players that can't get very good results in 1on1s.

But that said, fox is still one hella good 1on1 player :o

That's mostly because the really good 1v1 players don't specialize in 2v2.

Same with Quake...

Its very hard to tell how good a person is before you put him up against a different good player. Someone can look like he`s the best in the world , but when he faces a good opponent he could loose 50 - -1 ... it has alot to do with movement placement and decisions , this is very hard to spot .

Still when you think about it both the game types have the same elements involved: fragging and timing, except teamplay is exactly as that, you're playing within a team. In this case it makes you wonder why chaps like fox haven't won.

dont have 2 targets and another insane aim backing him up to lg and rail whore for the win. On a duel a player like cooller can pick him off with superior strategy and movement, in the 2v2 he cant pick his fights as much as cant avoid both tox and fox.

Changing the subject: two great moments in this final for me was the t7 game, very close & great to watch. Secondly coollers frag run on ztn, it was irrelevant to the score gap but it was still a great run, 10+ frags and two amazingly tight rails.

Also his run on dm11 was great too iirc
