NO there was not recorded anymore demos then this - go check cached.net. So its not because ppl dont want to upload them, there arn't any demos to upload...

In fact Pen and I were the only people who even bothered to record demos, and only one demo of the event will make it's way online unfortunately.

I suspect Vai isn't happy he missed that dodge from the centre cliff towards amp with 30 secs left. He should be able to do it in his sleep. Now he missed it and blew his chance to get the a 4-4 frag.

When I missed that jump for a split second i thought "Shit, I choked!" but I HAD to catch Fat so bad that I immediately forced myself to forget about it. Looking back on it now though, it did cost me the game. There were about 1-2 other points in the game where if I had taken a small chance I probably could of gotten the kill I needed.

I've only been a "top" player for about 6 months now, and I am overjoyed and extremely proud. I learned a lot from this experience and plan to be better prepared next time.

to some european games this does look a bit bland.. i must admit i was expecting a bit more from fat besides whoring the mini all the damn time. i thought all that practicing would teach him howto use other methods of winning besides whoring the mini.

but it was a gg, bl vai would have been nice for someone to knock fat off. bl on the jump gl for wcg and future events

To me it seemes like tickrate still alter hitscan weapons, overfavoring the closest players and over-disfavoring the players that sit fartest away from the server :/

...also it gives faulty ping stats, i get around 50ms in-game ping to k-play.de, same as a German, even when I actually sit in Norway and have a dos ping on 60-70.....

its about the effective tickrate. K-play runs on linux. If you set the tickrate on 50, the effective tickrate is about 30.

Also high tickrates does not make your ping lower than it actually is.

And finally, ofcourse theres a difference between high and low tickrates. But this goes for all weapons. It just feels like lower ping. Ofcourse you can argue that on lower ping tracking weapons are more usefull, but thats not the point here. In UT1 tickrate was directly related to the damage some weapons did. And this is not the case in ut2k3.

Not enough... I autorecord everything, and average around 2.5 games a day. So that's 30-40 min on average a day. Again, not enough... Everyone else at the tourney was 2x as prepared as I was...

I'm sure I'd never stand a chance vs Fat or any of the good players out there, but sometimes I don't understand how Fat beats these people :P Like watching cpense vs inf or watching gitzzz play it just seems like they'd destroy this guy, but then Fat wins everything. Watching through the eyes of somebody playing against him, it seems like he sucks :P (I'm not saying he does, I'm just saying it's strange) I'll shut up now :P

I talked to Lotus and Pen15 about the same thing at the event. We all played Fat in practice games alongside the actual event and he won 9/10 games easily. Yet, we noticed the same thing. He didn't seem better than us. His aim didn't seem superior, his movement was shabby, and he timed like we did. So how did he always beat us? I don't know, but whatever it is, it's probably what makes him the best.

GG, by the way, Vai, I didn't mean any disrespect towards you or anything. And certainly nothing against Fat, he's obviously doing something right .

what makes fatal1ty win this game is that that he plays secure, calm and confident. But I doubt he will survive the fights and be able run away (with shieldgun) vs top euro players @ ESWC...

Playing calm and confident is a must for a LAN tourney game, so I do understand why Fat plays like he do. (except for the run away shieldgun thing).

He does have plenty of experience, so I bet he's got some nerves on him at this point. It will be interesting to see how his style holds up, and then if it doesn't, I'd like to see what he does then. He's yet to wow me as far as ut2k3 goes, but so long as he wins, I guess he doesn't have to :P

fat gets his chance again to practice v the euros.
it can only be good for him come WCG time.
regardless, he will do well at eswc, and will learn more to beat the best we euros can offer.
