nice demo, I think he was a little too passive leaving his team in a 3v4 situation most of the time, should at least go for peaking on bridge sometimes between reds. But good rg:)

Storm had an unbeliveable RG aim. Most thought back then he might cheated, but he was always LAN prooven. Not even his flicks or anything, but his reaction time seemed humanly impossible:). There was a rumor that he was an ex-pro tabletennis player, that's where his relfexes came from, but idk...:) If his tactical skills would've matched his aim back then...

Good to read that it even went viral back then. I remember it was in Quake's prime era, we even had Quake LANs for 500 players in Hungary, when storm played, a group of 10-20 always watched him from behind. When you had to play him in tournaments, different tactics needed. Holding rail became priorty over RA, but his SG still caused a lots of headache, when he was stripped from both, it was incredible how average he became, but on lots of TDM maps there were both SG and rail, on dm6 even two SGs, and when you have to rotate to other items, you have to sacrifice other resources, so it was never easy against him. :) I've seen and played many top players and matches of Quake in my past 20 years, but never experienced anyone with his reaction time, so until this day there is a little distrust in me, that he used somekind of third software, but I saw him playing IRL several times, especially checking his hands, others did too, so it shouldn't be possible. I'm feeling really nostalgic now, good old times anyway:)

I felt nostalgic too reminiscing about those times :) They will never happen again, and we're lucky to have been part of it.
I have to say though, QPL is incredibly awesome right now too.. the level of competition is like never before.

Storm definitely wasn't using third party software. During the LAN party I described we first saw him play on the server, then went over to his table to check if he was really moving the mouse and pressing the button. And he did. There was never something fishy about it.

I've actually right now gone back to the Youtube video in my linked post and gone through a few of the "most suspicious" shots frame by frame and measured how long it took him from seeing the opponent to firing. He never got unter 0,15s. That's a very good reaction time, but still very much within the accepted human limit.

Yep, on P-T4, after seeing him play, my main goal was to deny the rail too. It worked for a while, but eventually he got it, and it was aaall over from there :D

Reminds me of the german sprinter Armin Hary (won 100 m Olympics 1960), he also had this "problem" and was often accused of causing early starts when in reality he just had a faster reaction time then anybody else (it was measured to be around 0.04/5 sec. compared to average human 0.12 sec.).

IIRC he once said in an interview that in that famous final 1960 he - after 2 early starts already - he waited a little after he heard the starting shot before he actually started running (all that in a time frame where the others hadn't even realised that the run had started) and still won.
