So I haven't been playing Quakelive for ~2years... I just wanted to check my account and noticed that quakelive.com redirects me to steam.

What is that?
Is my account gone?
Are the "clans" still there in which I was?
Do I still have my friends list?
Can I even expect any of my old buddies to be active?

Shoutout to T1E, mumu, xanthic, ROFL, dronsu, swords, kazunoko, T1hol, Uraz, pinaZZ, seiya, Ba77osaI, h8m3, ulbe, He4rTL3sS, ..... and all the others that I am forgetting right now :(

Friend lists are gone, clans are gone. Friends are now handled trough steam. There's many improvements and new features. You can get the game free if you bought pro subscription at any point pre steam, just message syncerror on discord or irc, or send a mail with your former account info to ql support mail you can find on the bottom of quakelive.com page

sadly no. You have to install steam trough wine and then ql from steam. Make sure you install dontnet20 to your steam wine prefix. I works ok for me. Its not ideal, but its what you get.

Edit: for best performance run steam on single core with taskset 0x1 and make sure your com_idlesleep is set to 0 in game

The support email doesn't exist anymore and you won't find it on the website either.
I kinda doubt they still give out keys but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

QL is very much not down. It just moved to steam.
Friends list is gone, so you'll just have to find your buddies in steam.
