I have 1 question tho, why did you put HAL in your list, considering the fact that he plays only lolCA like me. I guess by high level you mean top duel/tdm/ctf players, not lolCA right ?

no offence to HAL, he's a great player, but if you put him in your list then add all the top lolCA players aswell :>

He's a good dueler too, but he mostly plays CA. I can't add as many top CA players bcause it's harder to get their model. I did add kgb, but I don't know what fragsau, todesknecht, etc use.
I did add ctf and tdm players, unless you consider l1nkin a better dueler than hal.

I think I always played with sarge (in ql).

The only real reason is just to have a different sounding jump between your own and that of the enemymodel.
And I guess that as a side 'sub-reason' which is not important.... I found the sarge jump sound the least annoying and thus sarge ftw ;)

Apart from personal preferences, I once asked several pro guys during q3 heyday why they use this or that model. Was just curious as many pals kept using Visor or Sarge (THE CIGAR/ WHERE IS THE CIGAR?).
What they told me - only reason they use specific models is that they have specific jump/hit sounds that a particular pro player likes/feels good with.
Guess that haven't changed a bit and this goes for most of the players, not only the pros.
BTW there are still ppl out there who think that if playermodel is female, the player must be female as well.

it's very rare but I've also seen visor used for the enemy model. He's loud as balls so I guess maybe that's why?

Bitterman imo has the least amount of distracting noises (jumping, getting hurt, etc), I'm glad to see other players using him too!

A little bit off topic: If you could build your own model consisting of vanilla assets (head, body, legs) & distinct sound noises for each motion/event, what would it be?

Mine (sound), as quiet as possible with louder sounds for health warnings:

Jump: Klesk (super quiet jump, everything else unbearable)

Fall damage (5): Bitterman
Fall damage (10): Bitterman/Ranger

Damage (<75 HP): Bitterman
Damage (<50 HP): Visor
Damage (<25 HP): Visor
Death: Visor

Model: I love the look of Sarge/krusade, so I'd probably just have that.
