Why doesn't Id at the very least try to make a new Arena fps game? They've been coasting off quake 3 for 15 years now. I know on these parts that quake 3 is held in a high light, but why not try to replicate a arena fps like they did for quake 3? Do they raelly need to include a single player in a project like this? WOuld it raelly cost Id software that much in reousrces, and say, get about 15-20 people and try to make a successor to quake 3?

What is it going to take to make the arena fps relevant again? Because quake live is obviously not the answer.
