it was too late the moment I heard stand alone complex intro (Yoko Kano - Inner Universe). certain japanese music is just impossible to leave without now, which doesn't take away anything from stuff like Obscura or Boris. I also like Maximum the Hormone. who cares? there is no such thing as "real <genre>" any more than music can be objectively measured. music is sound converted to emotion by each brain completely uniquely.

A standard argument for this would probably sound something like: it's comparable to girl dota streamers of low skill, relying on cleavage for viewers, or to books that are written using market research to decide content rather than a writer's artistic vision.

It's subpar music that relies on sex and/or gimmicks to sell, in other words.

As a pop act:
(based on the few things I've read about them)

-The band is actually playing at shows (apparently except for the first show, which was a different "band" and prerecorded music).
-The "lead" singer, at least, actually sings at shows.
-The writers try to use the group's popularity to speak out about things other than "lol, im shakin my ass" , "damn, i love his cock", "something, something [insert latest trendy catch phrase/word]"
-They don't have a token black guy around to make them seem "legit".

So they're already miles ahead of any Western/American pop crap.

As metal:

Not much to say other than given some of the ridiculous shit "real" metal bands do, I don't see anything wrong with what they're doing.

You mind linking, also, what quality,? the files I have are scattered around from some albums having 320kbps and others having lower, and wasn't able to find any flacs.

i don't have flacs, but I also can HARDLY notice flac or 320 on studio monitors. I used two trackers, one of which private. so, I'm uploading right now.

It depends on the songs with me, but yeah it's rare that the difference is apparent, I just like to be safe.
