Sensor in g100s is Logitech's own implementation of the A3055 (g100), which in turn is based off the 3050. All in all a bit complicated but they share the same basic architecture (gathered from browsing OC.net)

Logitech's AM010 is a completely different sensor architecture. The only thing similar is physical casing and lens model.

3050 is a low cost entry design. Apart from being the weakest sensor on a technical forefront, it's also a spec downgrade coming from previous 3305 implementation.

Both models have their own... "problems". They trade off in specific categories.

Between the G502 and G402 which would you consider to be a more clean implementation ? And which has the extra possible issues ?

Its pretty smart to release different version of mices with pretty much no changes to them, just look at people how they buy them all the time. :p

Kinzu is a great shape and 77g is perfect. 60 IPS seems really low though, so I'll wait for someone else to test it first.

1000dpi isn't very clean anymore, at least on the xornet.
it wouldn't be an option for me to use that, so i removed the dpi-buttons and -switches alltogether, having a xornet at 500dpi only.

And i was refering to the g100. The improved version of the A3050 found in the g100s (AM010) works best on 1000 dpi, yes. but if a sensor still calls itself A3050, i wouldn't be suprised if it still performs as bad as the A3050 found in the g300 or g100.

3050 and AM010 are two separate sensor architectural designs all the way down to imaging size and frame rate.

3050 has a higher ceiling when it comes to tracking speed (IPS rating), though it's also shown to be more inconsistent (per surface basis) and weaker on the front of imaging power.

Resolution values scaled at the identical CPI settings are much worse on 3050. The CPI ceiling is much more practical on AM010.

not necessarily given that we discuss native DPIs. However upscaled (nonative) DPI steps will ineviatably result in jitter or increased amount of smoothing to negate jitter :) Hence you never want to use non native upscaled DPI steps. Lower DPI should be fine since they just throw every other count which comes from sensor IC to mouse MC.

It doesn't seem like there's much difference between this mouse and the kinzu v2. As far as shape the height and width are smaller by about 0.6 millimeter.

All the sensor numbers are worse than on the kinzu v2, but fairly close.

The only difference I can see is the addition of "steelseries switches" as opposed to the kinzu v2 pro's Omron switches or whatever the switches are in the kinzu v2 reg.

i also doubt that the shape is different at all, looks more like they rounded the numbers on the kinzu v2 specs.

I disagree completely. I'm using one, and it's very, very usable.

Also it can tolerate up to 1.65 m/s without issue, higher than the wmo's perfect control speed.

This kinzu v3 is listed at 1.5 m/s, lower than the kinzu v2. (read the info at the bottom)

Besides even if you do have such high speeds, how often would you really use them in-game? Watch any top player and you'll see that short of rocket jumping they'll almost never make such fast motions.

the WMO's perfect control speed is low, but the malfunction speed is still quite high compared to that, so you won't look in the air doing a fast swipe.

under normal circumstances i hit already ~1.8 m/s ingame with 28cm/360°, so i would probably look in the air all the time i have to do a quick 180° turn, when reacting to an enemy from behind.
