check \cl_currentserveraddress in game for the server ip.

put the IP (not the one marked "default") into

winmtr from http://winmtr.net/

make sure it has no leading or trailing whitespace or even a valid ip will fail.

That will show you where your problem is.

It is not my problem. Other people are experiencing this as well. It is Quake Lives problem.

Okay well I went ahead and did that. All the ones that have any relation to my internet provider avg 24-29 ping and the worst is 47. ae4.cr2.ord6.us.scnet.net had 116 and I found this link after searching it http://toolshack.com/ae4.cr2.ord6.us.scnet.net

That's not really helpful, you should use the nice big copy text to clipboard button and post that, you can blank out the first IP address to give yourself anonymity.

Sorry that might not be useful either the problem stopped while I was using the program so the data is messed up.

Well it likely will never be fixed because of the fact that it doesn't happen with anything except quake live. If I never encountered problems with it prior to quake live I doubt others will.

It's been very common for people to have routing problems to IL for years now. You're very lucky if you get the ping you expect there, especially during peak hours. Unfortunately it's the most "fair" location for the most people that we have in NA since TX is totally broken (it went from one of the most popular locations in the beginning of QL to barely used now for a reason).

It's too bad we get VA and DC which are pretty much the same location instead of something like VA and NY like we used to have. I guess it's part of some package deal with the host where id just took what they could get. How the mighty have fallen.
