studies suggest that many forms of gaming improve problem solving and the abililty to do so quickly. Don't think it's a stretch to assume it improves English as well.

Tis good when restricted and whenever it doesn't interfere with real life goals and ambitions. Whenever that starts happening, then it becomes a problem imho. Although I'd never give up gaming as it's one of my hobbies since I was a small child.

I'm pretty sure if I never played video games I wouldn't have smoked nearly as much weed as I have or drank nearly as much and I probably wouldn't be working 50-60hrs a week right now...that being said hindsight is always 20/20, impossible to say how I would have turned out without spending hours and hours on video games through my teens and early 20s. Plenty of great nights with friends with people always playing some kind of game throughout the night.

well, gaming precluded me from reading quite a few books. but then again, i'd already started being even less productive in reading than i had always been in life. so it's not the cause. if anything, it gave me jouissance

Arguably that's not the fault of video games but people who introduced you to it. It just happened to happen on a lan.

well gaming was a major boost to my english, I made some good friends and I have some awesome memories of it. None of my friends in it had bad habits too so I did not do any drugs because of it etc.

It probably made me less social in real life friendships etc though, not that I was a lonely geek type of guy but I certainly missed out on some stuff, or did it late.

It did develop my character to be competetive and it gave me certain methodical and thought skills that I am currently employing in real life situations so thats a big plus imo, maybe I would be the same without gaming but I cannot know that.

So yeah overall I think it helped me more then hurt me in more overall but it certainly was no lifesaver.

Honestly aside from ctf and a bit in tdm I had a completely wrong mindset back then for the game. Wish I was as mature as I am now but that is the definition of experience anyway

I basically rushed him with no brain whatsoever and czm being czm won big time hitting everything :D

given it was a group match and I was guaranteed to pass as second place but I still regret not playing proper, I would have lost anyway but It would have been a nice memory to have instead of what I have now.

Learned English. The desire to play with lower ping made me move out of my third world shit hole. Can't be any happier.
