i loveddddd the avago 3060 sensor in original ec2 and ikari optical also the 3080 sensor in 518.. i just like a bit of prediction and it seems every new gaming mouse coming out is doing away with it.

are there any new good mice or sensors i can look into that have decent prediction comparable to ec2/ikari/518? i'm more of a fan of the ec2 shape but i'm sure i can get used to something different as long as it's not too heavy.

i know that i could probably find 518s and ikari optical is still in stock but ikari optical is on the big side and they will quit making it soon so i'm looking for a mouse that i won't have to worry about going out of production for a while.

i'm probably alone here liking prediction ._.

You could try the Saphira, IKR M06 ,IR7572+and/or IRM05-WP, all of them are using old A3090 Angle Snapping SROM, and are pretty lightweight.

Other Options would be the new 3310 mice(Avior 7000, Rival), but both of them are rather heavy.

Steelseries rival would probably be the best, you can choose the level of prediction 0 to 10. Sorry I don't know of any light mice with angle snapping.

i own a rival and had some issues and apparently its the way i hold and swipe the mouse/shape of the mouse and not the sensor. also realllly not a fan of the side grips :<

God I hate that model sway in source games. Yeah most people have seen this in their time, the random bursts most people probably have seen from dust or some crap by the sensor and they just teleport look down/upwards. And I could only assume high dpi mice are more prone to this.

And the slow version is a similar case where the mouse doesn't like the surface or it's simply just hardware/person. I think a lot of mice even good ones get this problem subtly like just move your mice back and forth in the same spot and see if the mouse slowly goes up or down ^.^ Not sure of the cause of the problem but its interesting, it could simply just be the maths.

nah its the way i hold my mouse & the placement of the sensor i just played around with it & added prediction and if i hold it superrrrr uncomfortably it is fine. just not a very good mouse feels kinda cheap and i had to file the buttons down so they wouldnt touch eachother when i held mouse 2 and clicked mouse1 kinda dumb =(

u could fix that with Ql accel driver.

Angle (default 0):
Applies a clockwise rotation in degrees to mouse input prior to pre-scale. Negative values will rotate anti-clockwise. Hold your mouse
comfortably and move the cursor from side to side. If there is a consistent angle to the cursor movement, you may
choose to correct this. I personally find a value of +5 corrects my 3 finger grip on the Abyssus.
This option is probably terrible for mice that have obvious prediction/drift control/whatever they call it this week.

Somewhat off topic to the question just curious.

Is angle snapping and prediction synonymous, or is there a slight difference? I do the line test in mspaint and most mice I can draw perfectly straight lines including this razor deathadder(PM0808015100621) which I assume is an older model which might have angle snapping just weird how it seems to be a way to detect angle snapping if it isn't already obvious like with mx518's yet some mice that say no angle snapping seem to sometimes also get straight lines quite easily. I'm not a fan of angle snapping conceptually but its intriguing to know if there are pro/cons to it. eg. would angle snapping be ever so slightly better for twitch aim?

Angle snapping and mouse prediction are the same thing. It can be very useful but you do need to aim differently. For example if you like to do flick shots with the rail you can line it up, then flick and shoot. During the flick it is very easy to keep your vertical aim level with angle snapping. Without the angle snapping you can more easily just aim for the enemy to do a flick shot but if you make any wrong moves it make it much more difficult for you to hit the shot. Basically with angle snapping you can count on your aim to be straight.
