Hitpoint.cz is organizing a Quake Live DUEL tournament in Brno, Czech Republic. We are offering 4 slots for European players outside of Czech Republic.

The Qualifier (updated post)

The qualifier will be played from Sunday 10 November 2013 over the next week. Single Elimination tournament for 16 players. All matches will be Bo5. Players will be seeded by their current ELO on QLRanks. Top 4 players will be invited to participate at the LAN event in Brno.

Schedule of the main event

Group Stage: Saturday 23.11. / Playoffs: Sunday 24.11.

yes but unfortunately i don't think they will allow dem0n to play since they want only not so skilled players (max around 2100 elo)

however: ''We are willing to help fund the travel costs by 40€ per player.'' ...that can also help players to decide if they want to go

the not so skille dplayers are around 1500 elo man. anyone above 1800 is quite skilled.

Why wouldnt they want top players? It would results in more exposure and more interest in the actual tournament. That statement makes no sense logically, unless its a tournament for only czech players.

I think it is more that they don't want a player like Cypher or Rapha to get there because then everybody knows who will win. If they take some high skilled players but not the absolute top the games might get more exciting because we don't know who will win.

Well i said the same thing to organizers as well...however they want lesser skilled players to give them chance to prove themselfs. Also it has something to do with the fact that czech players (sadly) wouldn't stand a chance against top players.

Nevertheless this is actually sixth season of this cup/league and previously it was only for cze/sk players hence the four players already invited.

i believe that it's more of a personal question...ofc anyone can lower their elo by couple hundreds...i'd say anyone can aply but if they will get the spot in quali that's another thing

you don't have to tell me i agree with you although i believe skill restriction has it's pros but there are more cons and more important ones....

....still i don't think they will change their mind about this since i tried it :D nevertheless how fucking cool it would be to have players like av3k, dem0n...maybe cypher, cooller, noctis (it's really close for him) competing (again) in czech republic :D

is that a one day qualifier? not sure I understand what "The qualifier will be played from Sunday 10 November 2013 over the next week" means... and it only says "10.11" on http://www.hitpoint.cz/asus-arena-european-ql-qualifier

Hopefully the qualifier will be played out on Sunday but it depends how many people will sign up. If there is not enough players then we will move the deadline a little bit.

Yes, its from my point of view bad...This ELO limitation "only" 2100.
There is only few players what can traveling to CZ I think. If limitation after maybe 2300 or higher.

The number is just that - a number. They know the players and how good is every single one of them+it's not hard to judge from match history.

well you know the top players would want most likely to attend this since they have much more chance to actually win something....if you're less skilled player you probably don't want to travel somewhere to have some kind of chance to win something

however it's still good oportunity for everyone and i'm probably gonna be there :D
