As a warm up for the Swedish Championship of Quake Live we are hosting a series of showmatches between some of the signed up players.

At 13:00 CST, 14 November 2013 it will be time for a best of 7 between

Spartie and

Tox for 50 EUR.

Like the last time, the game will be casted by Zoot and

Ins on their Twitch channel Zootlive. The latest information about the showmatches and the main event can be found on QuakeSM.se.

I'm limiting myself because this is only a warm up for the Swedish Championship of Quake Live - it would be pretty strange with showmatches of players that cant sign up for the main event.

But hosting more showmatches is a really good idea, and there would be no problems finding someone casting them. Make something of it yourself. :)

On a post you can hit reply, there is a text on the top right of every post that says "Reply" hit it and type your reply. The person that made the comment will be notified that you have replied to them.

I don't really remember this. I'm not sure what team Mojo was on with DKT and I, but I certainly don't think you're accurate here. There werent any trans-atlantic events and certainly no team-based LANs.

Anyway, whining that was done regarding game changes were probably more relevant than you think. DKT, Mojo and I were apart of the Q4 community development team, along with 5-6 other people (the group of people that directly interacted with arQon during the development of competitive modes and changes, organized by SyncError) and during that time arQon did a lackluster job listening to us/SyncError about what needed to change to make the game more competitive/better.

Any 'whining' about those things were probably warranted. A lot of people put a lot of time testing and brainstorming ways to make the game really good and it fell on deaf ears. This was particularly frustrating because we were specifically recruited to suggest and help implement these changes.

iNfensus was a team of Swedish players that won Quakecon 2003 for RTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein). Some of them moved like they came from Quake.

KiH made some really great RTCW videos. iNfensus and KiH used to roll with a guy called Wizz, I think. He was super helpful with configs and settings. Do you know if he's still around? He used to idle in their channel on qnet.

I just came up with the greatest showmatch there could be.

You take one high skilled player that have been vocal about keeping ath(Zhu) banned and let him play versus Zhu. They play in a best of 7, with the same map pool as DHW.

If i remember correctly Twister was against him getting unbanned so you unban Zhu one week before the event so that he can get some practice. Twister gets to start with the map picking.

The battle is about Zhu getting unbanned. If Twister wins, zhu never gets unbanned from QL. If Zhu wins he gets unbanned.

I don't know who voted against him getting unbanned so if you can come up with another player would be great.

Exactly, those that criticize him and wants him to remain unbanned gets to step it up and make sure that he stays banned and he gets his chance to prove himself that he so dearly wants.

SyncError said that it was up to the community so it is up to those that doesn't want him to shut up and do something about it. Those that want him back can get to sit and enjoy.

It could also be done so that in the best of 7 there is one criticizer on each map. He can practice on "his" map only and face Zhu.

There are a lot of people that hate you so there shouldn't be any problem finding someone ;-)

The POLL was of course about getting him unbanned. And if it is through work, fine. I just thought that it would be an interesting thing to have a game where he gets to prove himself like he have been asking for.

Then if he does it through work it would also be fine. But he is rather limited by being banned.

Who from ESR did make this a schedule event? The date is totally wrong; the showmatch will be played at 20:00 CET, 14 November 2013, not what it says now (29 November).

kinda random but w/e. wasn't gonna post it because he talks about people's styles. it ends a bit anti-climatically since I closed my firefox window and the remaining half just went away.

tl;dr of the rest based off what I remember:

-said he was studying players atm (looking for patterns in their plays, found something about cypher but im not gonna go too specific into detail)
-has beaten mostly everyone in practice
-interesting warm up method (instead of just shooting enemy with one weapon, he is constantly changing guns and using different combos all the time *literally every 2 seconds* during warm up to get himself used to all the ways of aiming and make his aim as versatile as possible) *I actually started doing this and didn't hit jack shit at first lol.
-trying really hard to remember but can't remember anything else =((((((
