this is an good tournament highlights movie!

very fluid, even on 1080p full screen looks crystal clear for 720p

some nice overlays and at times HUD insertions when it was necessary

only thing that bothered me was those map announcements (as they did during live stream) and missing commentary from t7 from the grand final (but that is probably cause during that map stream was messed up and inverted pov sound)

love the over-the-shoulder camera footage, if there is more of that somewhere would be great, l1nkin? :)

+ FACEY song in the outro

ofcourse. it is apparent that he can never play again without being judged. but at least - as opposed to all other cheaters who just create new accounts/switch the game/whine a lot - he started giving back. and that's great. if all cheaters would became fairly decent movie makers, we'd be having a great time!

Have his efforts been more useful than what he harmed the game, by being the most known cheater (bad reputation for the whole game) and helping developing a cheat?

Usually individual cheaters don't matter once they are banned and don't cheat again, but zeroql is a special case both for better and for worse.

Ironically the zeroql hate cancelled out the goggles most people have that prevent them from realizing just how boring most if not all frag movies from lan events are. You can give these frags to KOS and entik and they still wouldn't be able to turn them into something that actually deserves a 10.

But you have a small point, yet in the end, it is still a good thing that people are doing such things, it might not be a 10 but it might be a 9.5. 9/10 because of the retarded footage from the finals. WTF are you doing guys? You can make a fragmovie just out of Furious Heights, showing the health and the tense moment when both had no health and kept fighting around the map. On DM13 no winning frag from Raffer and nothing from last chase?? On Toxcity nothing on how Raffer acutally took the map, or that crazy fadeaway rail, jumping backwards towards the Lower Yellow area off a corner, to avoid Evil's LG range from Upper YA... Srsly wtf? Everything else was really enjoyable.

why didn't u walked the id's way in creating announcer's voice - pitch it down a little bit artificially - that way it would've sounded way more epic. U could even recreate the original q3a arbiter vibes - the most cool voice out there, with help of modern audio editing software it could be done in a matter of minutes.

I can imagine how much attention this "toxicity" guy draws if he talks like that normally, but his performance still lacks that heaviness and cyberdemoniac frequencies q3a arbiter had.

I have to agree that the choice of footage from the finals was pretty questionable. left out the most epic moment on t7 as well as rapha's scandalous rocket on dm13. didn't like the music so much either, but whatareyagonnado. still a very nice movie!

I also had no idea "chance" was an actual first name. :S

This movie is boring and a clusterfuck at the same time.

Annoying music and visuals. Completely boring structure a la: this happened, then this happened, then this happened, and finally that happened. Nothing holds the content together, no changes in dynamics. Adding so much shoutcasting didn't feel right, either. The excitement should come from the movie maker's presentation of the frags, but the presentation was dull and tedious.

hope to see some something better from mrql next time.

what's up with the encoding? youtube looks like 15 fps even in 1080p, it's almost unwatchable. downloading the giant file right now, i hope it's worth the wait.

Cant believe the amount of a-hole whining trolls on this site. Quake deserves to die if these are the kind of fans it has :( The video was good except the music. Only showing the frags is a TERRIBLE idea. The profile pictures, scores and in-venue footage are ace, shows the beautiful location, Raphas scream vs DaHanG was epic, actually filming the players and showing them on screen makes it a lot more personal and tense. Please continue with this Faceit if you produce Dreamhack etc. Not showing the players and location would make it seem like a run of the mill online tournament. Tosspot is the most epic commentator, but ddk and zoot are also good. Personally I would go for House/Techno/Breakbeat/Trance instead of this kind of emo numetal or whatever it is. If you have to do metal go with something more like Metallica or classic Q2-music etc. Overall though good work!

the movie does nothing for me unfortunately:/ faceit winter season movie was excellent. spring season one was mediocre, but it was explained by the fact that it was rushed (meh). this... I don't know. like scowl said it's kinda a clusterfuck. still the content is solid so 6/10 it is.

Zero4 is such a legend. And ddk's dance at the end was awesome.

Otherwise the movie is kinda lame. Includes those map intros but leaves out Lost World, and just jumps there from Cure + already mentioned missing epic moments. Lacks suspense really. Just watch the first segment (evil vs. k1llsen) in Memorial 3. dKsL does an amazing job at creating suspense, with perfect commentary editing, camera angles, picking of just the right moments. This comes nowhere near. 7/10.

i really was surprised that the crucial moments from dm13 and t7 are missing ;/. ddk+zoot and the crowd was absolutly amazing in those moments.

but i have to say some words to the musicselection: the faceit-team have to use music with permission, and as a moviemaker you are never happy when your music choices are limited. building special situations or creating suspense parts with a music which has a constant flow and without buildups or changes in rythm is quite hard. i also feel on some spots the volume is too low compared to shoutcast/ingame sounds. thats my opinion.

i really like the animations/ footage by l1nkin.
also loving the LG beam by dahang and zoots "freak-out" during the chance match ;D
