the engine needs to be released, so network pause fully works on listen and dedicated servers, as it is now, the any player can press your pause, and all client frames pause, the server time still counts down

fully works on dedicated servers, the pools like in relativity in this pic http://www.moddb.com/mods/q43a/images/q43a4 need a small lip so you can get out with ease

on full clientside missles they will disappear because of all the POV updating not working in gamelocal player vis functions, and all the nodraw and stuff in the map itself

What's the matter hot shot, there are no splashes on the water.

there are probably small splashes, it depends on the _color you set on the func_liquid in the editor

load Q43A, on the main menu, drop the console and type editor for the map editor and all of Q43A def files and team models, textures etc

make a func_liquid and set the following in the entity properties

"editor_var density" "afftects the speed of entities"
"editor_var buoyancy" "buoyancy, any minus value will sink to the bottom"
"editor_var damageDef" "damage def to use when out of air"

its missing the _color var, so add _color and set the color to match the texture, and it will be the color which overlays on the player hud and all particle fx for projectiles and splashes etc

and it depends on if a projectile using small, medium, large liquid splash fx

installing Q43A :

from quake 4 version 1.0

1> download the full point release update from 1.0 -> 1.3 and install it

2> download the 1.3 -> 1.4.2 point release update and install it

3> open the downloaded Q43A zip, and extract and put the Q43A folder in the quake 4 install folder with the executables in

4> run quake 4 and load Q43A from the mod menu on the main menu in the bottom left corner, and play all maps and the game like normal

you need the 1.3 update, because 1.4.2 has missing files

to make a server with all new server settings,

1> go into the Q43A mod folder, and open Q43A launher

2> run Q43A launcher and set the folder to your quake 4 install folder with the executables in

2> configure your server, and press the lunch listen or dedicated button

3> save you config off with a name you can remember, or backup the temporary dump in the Q43A folder that is created when you launch a server

i feel like i'm not crediting shootmania enough tho, it had more average stream viewers (~70) than port's coding practice downloads, so compared to q4321a it was very well alive.

I made that gif years ago when Militia was all the rage.
My recycle bin, registry, hard drive, internet connection still bear a grudge.

sp in militia worked like it does in Q43A, Q43A has a few new things and water and texture footstep sounds for custom maps if anyone makes them, existing maps need all AI hitscans to use Q43A hitscan projectile

after q4 v1.0, the sdk had that worthless this mod is # only message

Q43A is sp/mp, linux, windows all in 1 source to code and build
