I thought only teenagers split motorcycles in "classy" and "yobbo filth" categories. Once you have to actually dish out your own money you stop blabbering about it and only look for other factors than "classy" or not.

I'm about 25.000€ short for an italian class workmanship and heritage with dry clutch, horrible riding position and hardly supporting a passenger - still would be nice to own one for solo riding, the expenses are huge though. The duc is like an exotic sport car, few can afford it and those who can also have the money to keep it maintained.
It's not my concern the gsxr is associated with idiots - it's the perfect blend of sporty/commuter ride, you can get homologation for luggage (good luck getting that on an r1 or other 1000cc counterparts) and it's by far the most enjoyable ride I've been on.

As for the r6, it just looks nasty and packs quite a punch.

I also don't think people using the term "dafuq" are the ones I should ever listen to.

if i had to be realistic i'd go for the f3 600, mainly because it's a more manageable engine size for both the city and the rides outside (as well as for the health of my wallet) but the thought of hearing a f4 rr 1000 scream on the highway makes me wet

i don't agree with what xparty said, japanese models are very affordable, light and have the same performance if not better than these so called classy italian models, got a gsx-r 1000 and it's such a jewel

Japs are much more reliable as well, duc is a pain in the ass in that aspect.

The engine is put a bit more in front on the z1000/z750, coming from sv650 to this makes leaning on corners a bit confusing.

Yeah some models are just too peaky and have narrow power distribution. r1/r6 are annoying to ride within city limits, I'm having issues on the gs500 and just feel the need to escape the city as soon as possible.
Hopefully I'll own the gsxr1000 soon as well, can't wait to upgrade \o/

Lets be honest, both are ugly, big, but most importantly, impossible to have fun with without endangering lives. You probably rather want a Porsche or Toyota GT-86.

Buying a 911 -the classic Porsche- is a great way of killing yourself though. Engine at the rear = lift off oversteer that's counterintuitive to safe.

It isn't more relaxing either, considering it's rear wheel drive (have to correct it to go on a straight line) and it has stiffer suspension (unless buying the $9999 option).

Based on my preferences the GT-R is not what I'd look for on that price range (especially the new ones as they are miles more expensive than what they used to be), but it's an admirable car and I celebrate the fact that it exists.

The fact that porsche is easier to drift is exactly why its more fun at much lower speeds. Also, it has way more 'nurturing' electronics. It is more relaxing because the ride is more comfortable and throttle is less sensitive.

I'm not a fan of that Nissan nor of that company, but the truth is the GT-R wins in all those regards:

The 911 is more dangerous and more difficult to drive at road speeds and daily driving, especially if it isn't the current model (2012+). It's documented all over the place and even Porsche itself acknowledges the design issues with the 911 (or what makes it stand out), warning customers about them on official documentation. While the newest ones aren't exactly hard to drive, it's way easier, more comfortable and more relaxing to drive an Accord, which costs a fraction of that price.
On the other hand, the GT-R is so easy to drive that some people criticize the car for it. On this point it truly is no contest.

More fun at low speeds is a matter of opinion, which internet reviewers aren't useful for since it's something personal, but it has to be said the vast majority of people prefer acceleration (where the GT-R is king in the industry and Porsches of that prize are painfully slow for their cost) rather than drifting through the city. On that note, practically no one buys a Porsche for drifting (do you know anyone that bought one for that reason?), that drifting itself is completely illegal and is 10 times more dangerous than putting your foot to the ground briefly, especially in a 911.
And btw AWD doesn't mean the power that goes to the wheels is the same to all of them. You can drift Volvos (isn't that much of powersliding if it is 10 to 90 at that moment).

I do acknowledge internet people think it's not a pure driving experience because of all the electronic aids (that btw you can disable if you don't like them), but it has to be said the current 911 isn't either and that brand offers better handling and better driving experiences for way less money (regular boxster and cayman). Even though I don't have experience on this next bit, what the interwebz says is the 911 starts to become brilliant at a way higher price tag, the rest being the entry level for showing off (BMW does the same).

As for being more relaxing based on those two reasons, the glorified Datsun comes with adjustable settings from factory, stock, so it is soft and not powerful if you want it to be. The 911 only comes with comparable stuff after spending a lot to get them as options, which ends up in comparing apples with oranges (tuned and modified cars cannot be compared with stock ones). I'd argue there are other reasons that make the 911 more relaxing, but it certainly is more bumpy and busier.
It'd be nice though to see which tires come with each car shipped to each part of the planet (the one you buy so the one that matters). That makes a huge difference.

Which would I buy between those two, at the exact same price? The 911, no contest. There are more factors than sheer speed and personally I'd have more fun owning that instead of the Nissan, in ownership itself and driving it. For that money though I'd buy a small apartment for renting (here there are nice tax benefits on those) and get an used cayman, if I wanted a Porsche.

I appreciate the long reply, but you're consistently not understanding two points I keep repeating. When you own a sports car, you enjoy it most at the limit of what the car can do, and take it to that limit. So the points are:
1. <insert supercar|GT-R> is a faster car than <insert sportcar|Porsche>
2. You will enjoy your slower car more and will speed less

Funnily, you do say "it's way easier, more comfortable and more relaxing to drive an Accord", which is kind of my point, except you take Accord to the limit when you change lanes on a highway, and that's kind of boring.

The comparison is made so it's clear sports cars usually aren't more relaxing than the rest, no matter they cost more. The 911 is a special case because it's specially not relaxing, a surprisingly difficult drive that keeps drivers on their toes, which is both a good and a bad thing.

In the end it's a matter of opinion: some people swear by the Datsun and others' life dream is to own a Porsche. All I'm saying is the GT-R is the internet king because it does deliver, but it falls short in aspects those can't understand, while the base 911 is not as great as people think it is.

I haven't driven either one but it seems like the GT-R would be far easier to bring back once you go beyond the limit of grip with its front engine and 4x4 as opposed to the rear engined rear wheel drive Porsche.

Or you can say that it's easier to control a car when just the rear wheels don't have traction, as opposed to all 4 in GT-R. Well, I do know it's not exactly how GT-R works, but the bigger point is that a Porsche squeals at low speeds, provides better feedback at lower speeds, and GT-R sticks until 100mph, and when it snaps, you don't have as much time to break and correct.
