Well, we tried it out and DivX could hardly be viewed at a slower computer, was laggy and green (!!), hehe... Also it was uglier with things blurring together and all that...
But nevermind, liked the movie or did you even watch it?

tried using the divx player and trying some options ?

yeltsin, divx 3.x is based on mpeg-4, divx 5(and 4) are completely new written from the scratch codecs.


...and the green problem should be solved if you take another player or just reboot, helped for me at least.

/edit: its nice. the music is great and most of the frags are nice, but i think most of the sg-frags arent that impressive.
but i cant judge this because i never played this game in mp.
its nice to see that the fags at Raven software put the office level in the 2nd sof too, i really suffered at some Lans where we played sof and EVERYBODY of my so-called friends wanted to play this map all the time. Except me of course.

And about those frags, most of 'em were just cool shots, I mean, like the dude backing and burning and getting shot bu a shotgun, c'mon... It's not like it was very impressive done by the person that killed him but personally I think it looked cool >=}

That was what we were thinking at the creation of this particular movie, more focus on making it look cool and be filled with action, and less on sitting in a corner slowly taking out lots of dudes...

styx, yes it IS based on mpeg-4 even the 4,5. The difference is that they rewrote their modifications OF it :-) Its hardly possible to create a codec SO similar to ANY other mpeg4 based codec FROM SCRATCH. The stuff they say about it being FROM SCRATCH is a legal bs, because they went corp. with their codec. Still, theyve moded it so much you cant even call it mpeg4v5 now =p

Well, we did a quick overlook of the options, but not a very thorough one... But still, when the quality was crap and, as I said a slower computer could hardly view it at all, the file was still above 70 megs so I guessed the filesize would increase even more when turning the settings higher, and those 20-30 megs we might have gained using DivX (still not sure) doesn't really matter IMO, ya'll got good connections and even if you don't you probably won't bother downloading a SoF2-movie on 80 megs :P

And personally, I think the movie is almost *ownage* ;) Since it's the movie we're talking about, not the frags... And as I said also, I don't think long-distance AK-shots are very cool; yes they are hard to do and all that but only fun to watch when they're actually happening in real-time, or they are extremely important as that "last-second rail" by cha0ticz vs fatal1ty that it's been so much discussions about...

Longing for inet now... I've played the game some on a LAN where I live and it's very cool in MP.

Gonna download on Tuesday or so..

U should've put a little gamma correction on those pics b4 making a movie, its way too dark. :(
Nice to see sof2 movie tho.

Actually we did light up almost eveything, still it came out a bit dark =( Just didn't have the courage to increase gamma too much risking it look silly.
