was surely better that nvc got a mate to cast, as it was seen that he was struggling at the end, and without fishstix u would have seen video of casters instead of ql for an uknown time period,

no, nvc alone is better that's how bad fishstix is. There was an ocean of better casters right in front of nvc but he chose him lol, and in the event itself are some of the 2 best ever.

fishstix only casted minor stuff, so no.

What about the schedules?

On the Stream page it's written 12 CEST for the first quarter final.
Here it's 13 CEST.
On dreamhack's website it's 14 CEST.

It's very convenient if you want to be able to see a game during your lunch pause.

Always wondered why it's so hard to have precise and clear schedules during tournaments.

Pavel is realy good, but still a little lan/skill gab feels in important situations against top top. To beat avek, you need to have realy super aim, pavel doesn't have it :( Avek is one of smartest players in QL and his map control/map cutting is best I guess. He knows then to push and do frags, not just run around with 200/200 and dont do frags. For me , avek is hardest to play I guess. You can't suprise him, he reads you well, he cuts all ways to items, push you to corner.. You can beat him just with insane rail ,or strenx/evils lg..

Yes but aren't they only for day 1? If you leave twitch videos up every couple of hours we can watch them on twitch, catch up for the day and be in tune quickly. Instead of having to avoid the whole tourney for a day until you get the vods up

cypher's aim got weird. he's pulling some sick lg frags and accuracies but rg he's missing too much basic shots and getting outrailed by everyone.

Rapha is horrible at casting. I'm the only one who dislike this overanalysing trend in ql casting? Yes, we can understand what's happening and what mistakes been made, this isn't chess ffs. Where is Joe Miller to save the fun?

Spartie vs Evil ztn.
Near the beginning they were specing Spartie and Rapha was saying what he should do and there was a fight at mega where evil was using grenades and Rapha said something along the lines of: "Nonono don't go back, there's a grenade back there, and that would be embarrassing." (not exact quote of course, can't remember exact words).

(Spartie had 30h at the time as he was starting to +back to the ra/ya room and a grenade was behind him).

Was pretty funny in the moment the way Rapha said it.

if zeroql wants to redeem himself he should do a real contribution instead, like prize money. But then again that would only make him get less flame on events, still banned from quake and from its tournaments (constant aimbotting + developing an aimbot is the worst offense)

Well, both in groups and today against empish, it seemed like his settings werent tweaked to perfection yet. It felt like he had too high sens, missing a lot of rails. But he was playing with pavel during the break between quarter/semis and it was much more like we know him. So I guess he'll be ready against evil.

rapha making av3k look like a totall newb on that ztn and hektik... what a game by him, perfect counter on almost every gameplay style he can face in quake

and yeah, same thing on t7... av3k had that, but playing vs rapha just stops him from EVERYTHING, i really don't know why... he can't pull any good aim, he can't control, he can't do anything vs rapha

Such a shame about Av3k... especially last map. He changed his play completely and it was a pain to watch. Like he was scared to pickup that MH or RA when he had it on a silver plater several times. I guess rapha destroyed him mentally in first two maps :/

Crazy things happening today.

GG Evil! Really well deserved victory - you showed insane skill on all 5 maps.

But R.I.P to Av3k in quake. Was very emotional, especially towards the end of the speech. These are the most intense emotions I've experienced just watching esports. I hope av3k will come back at some point to say hello. Best wishes to all of his future activities

During Euro 2012 av3k had trouble getting out of Poland, there was a road accident which meant he missed his flight. There was an online tournament a week before the event from memory where he looked in great shape defeating rapha in the final, who was over here in germany practicing for it.

it has to be said that avek was a lot more respectful to the community than cooller, who did not give a fuck about everyone involved. Also it was a very nice gesture that he was almost breaking into tears at the end of the speech, memories kicking in and all.

I know people are retiring because of ....life, but I still see lots of them coming back for the same 2 reasons they did in QL, money in shootmania and 2gd's reborn (obviously lol) and nostalgia (of the game and the community); plus 1 more new reason they will realize as they get older: this is more than a mere 10minutes hobby and earning money with it is just a plus.

could be (avek's friend and clan partner), and with rapha trying to quit for like a year (signing up to uni) quake level will surely decrease.

It's time for new people to step up and go to lans, whether sponsored or not. "We" cannot depend on 3-4 players.

Gutted Av3k is quitting - it's hard to believe he never won a major in Quake Live. He had such a strong all round style and his aggressive play and aim was on another level when he was on form.

Av3k, if you're by any chance reading this, i just want to say: THANK YOU. Thank you for all the wonderful games you've given us. Thank you for being a complete and total bad-ass since you started out in Q3. Thank you for sticking with the game as long as you did, always trying your best to be the best, even if it was a bumpy road and you had to go against some of the most talented people in FPS history.

One of the things I really respected about av3k was that he never put on an act or tried to be something he wasn't he was real and truthful which for a lot of people is a very hard thing to do.

For that I give him my 100% upmost respect and I wish there were more people like that in the world today instead of the whole list of acts you find.

Really hope you do well in whatever you attempt to do irl and maybe some day, one day we'll see you return just for one lan in some game like the olden days :( <3

oh man, avek is real man, he doesn't afraid to tell, that quake was important part of his life.And from emotions you can see, he doesn't lie. respect!!! Not like cooller, talked like a trash..
I don't like have virtual friends/guys who I like, so I am neutral about aveks person, but his gameplay is my idol!

took some time but thanks for providing actual vods

about your casting: very solid, good explanations about the game, a bit repetitive as usual (dkt-z4 zzZZ, the funny thing about tox is that small mousepad and low sens he's lifting the mouse all the time zzZZ), but as I said in game really good for anyone who wants to learn more about ql 1v1, not just explaining item respawn times but also about aggression and mh-armor relation etc..

but I still don't understand why those vods don't get autouploaded to twitch (especially now as you put them up cut there anyway

don't take it like that, but I just don't understand it, I thought maybe it's enforced from DH HQ to not make vods available on twitch

in the larger context that vod is just important for a handful of people (especially in the first hours), the bigger part of my post was intended to be an appreciation of your casting :)
