Low friction only makes control worse with higher sens, because then your small inertial parasite hand movements will be amplified even more.
What is useful is to reduce mass, not friction.

I think I could handle both very low mass, and very low friction.

I would just adjust in-game sens values to compensate.

That being said I am skeptical of this solution due to the addition of moving parts, increase in mass, limiting of use to certain surfaces, and of course cost.

I think it would be more fruitful to reduce the mouse weight, and use BAM for the feet and pad maybe.

CompUSA Blue cloth pad (actually had a few of them)
Allsop Raindrop (had a bunch of these)
3M Precise Mousing Surface (went through a bunch of these)
Ratpad like crescent shaped hard pad
fUnc smooth/rough switchable. I used both.
fUnc 1030.r (with and without silicone spray)
Steelseries QCK+ (been through a few washings, probably surface is a bit different from stock).

I guess that's six if you group the two func pads together.

if you washed your mousepad you are using the same concept of "cleaning to have a consistent friction" changing the paper mousepad its the same but easier and more tidy.

This might be handy in a game like Counter Strike but especially not quake. No one ever plays in a way where you keep the mouse on the pad at all times, you lift and drop the mouse all the time.

you can lift and drop this mouse perfectly. if you play quake you are not that good as a player or you are going to be stuck in your gaming level.

A +alias bind which sets your sensitivity and accel 0 whilst you move your mouse back to your default position on your pad could get around this :)

In my case it would probably suck because I have that weird problem that I have shaky hands from time to time and without a bit of friction I probably would fuck up every rg shot. I also don't want my abyssus to be heavier than it is right now. Not even 25g more as I like to lift and adjust it a lot. It does look weird ingame but it's just the way I like to play and with a havier mouse I wouldn't be able to do it. Main reason why I switched from da to abyssus.

do you know the "filter" concept? look at RC filters in electronics. or look at steadycam concept. look at tripod steadycam idea, etc.

Anyone is wondering what zero friction is probably like, buy some hurricane edition IMO 1.1 mouse feet (itaktech Google it) and stick them on your mouse. Also, best results will be obtained with a super glidey mousepad (destructor, Shiden kai).

Hurricane feet are abit scratchy though on my mousepads. I think these are smoother.

Any idea where to get the hurricane edition feet?

I see on eBay (from Hong Kong) they advertise some feet for the G400 as hurricane, but the photo looks like the black, standard edition.

Ideally, I want to buy some hurricanes with the 0.18mm thickness. Couldn't find those at all.

(probably because it's physically impossible to superimpose the hurricane design onto thin feet in such a way that it is only 0.18mm high - the base of the feet takes a little height, then for the stable ridges it takes up even more height)

If you don't find the hurricane feet for your mouse, just get the MS IE or IMO feet hurricane edition and attach them to your existing feet. They are nice and small - even less friction. Very cheap too.

The only thing I see created was the bottom base board which is easily replicated using a small form CNC machine and a little bit of time for the added bearing parts.

Bit of a defensive response. This is a bold idea that you're taking and throwing away because of your own stupidity and ignorance.

Truthfully, I believe you're at least 1/2 smart but it's becoming more and more obvious that you're simply trying to make a ludicrous profit on something you're boasting to be much more than it really is. And, that's great... but don't take this community for a bunch of fools with no knowledge of the outside world beyond gaming.

The photo I showed was obviously from a table game however that exact same bearing with a metal sleeve has been used in countless amounts of applications since the bearing was invented. You simply took that bearing, added a pocket bracket to a replicated bottom piece to a selective model mouse and whammo... new "product". Like I said, that's great and completely expected. Just don't come on here, asking for $500 a whack or any investment for that matter, claiming you've invested so much and then insulting people who are skeptical.

Dissecting your project a little more... 25-30 hours in SolidWorks with access to a small factor CNC machine and about $200 in materials will be your "$50,000" project.

What do I know about CNC? If you must know, 9 years with GE Medical under sighting development with Oscor Medical (http://www.oscor.com/) who is one of the largest manufactures of pacemakers and cardiac equipment in the world. Nearly everything we make is modeled and mass produced using in house CNC machining. I am more than skilled in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Bentley MicroStation which is how I was able to pick through this project of your immediately and see exactly what you did and how you did it. I even replied to your original post and you shrugged it off.

But let's back up... you claim $50,000 invested yet no pending patents or even a hint of exclusivity binding this idea to you or a company you control. If you want "to generate something" even more, look, there are better working systems, for example, try to esc down in your street, and walk slow throwing bricks to random peoples: you can also replace the bricks with some of your mouses, it seems in your attitude, and i guarantee you that "something" will generate, for sure.

I'm sorry, but that kind of mouse is almost useless, at least in e-"sports": in that case,

1) this mouse doesn't allow to lift and replace often, quickly and steadly, and this lead to play well only with high/ultra high sensitivities (which automatically cuts off the use of the wmo version, due to the 400 dpi, if it even is disposable;)

2) what if the abyssus just bought reveal to be a jittering one? Whit the kind or sensitivity which that mouse requires to play, it could be even a bigger problem; and you would have spent 450 $to buy a mouse that cannot be sent to Razer anymore;

3) playing with such an high sensitivity would probably require to switch to 800 or more probably more dpi, which generates problems that are commonly avoided using the 400 dpi.

i'm not really expert in that thing, since i'm using 400 dpi from long, so i didn't explored the question, but too much unnecessary dpi could generates imprecisions in the sensor/drivers; 400 dpi are enough, so the best choice; what there is not, cannot go wrong

the paper pad i developed has perfect tracking, the paper has virtually the best configuration for the sensor to mantain the relative position accurately. as you can see in the indiegogo campaign: the pattern is comprised of circles the size of the picture taken by the optical sensor's camera. so even if you use a high dpi count, it works flawlessly.
you can test it for your own with any device/software/system and you'll be surprised

i forgot to compare it: it has the best tracking in the world. better yet: it has the best tracking of all mousepads in the world

It looks awkward to hold plus you can't have solid pressure on the mouse pad because the tumor growth underneath blocks your fingers. You need that controlled friction for muscle memory so you can perform stuff consistently.

It looks like it probably won't have to endurance to keep up with a dedicated Quaker who plays 24/7 and break after a month or two, many of us quakers lift and drop our mice so much it could damage the testicles on the sides. The added fat adds more weight to the mouse which might annoy some people.

But after all, I haven't actually tried it so who knows, maybe it's the best invention ever.
