I haven't overclocked any mice on win8 yet, but just saw this thread and wanted to write that i'm running it for 2 weeks and i pretty like it, feels more winXP-ish ingame than win7. However comparing to a year old installation is wrong so i can't rly say for sure what's better.

- same problem. Win8-64 kills my USB ports after modifying it (probably the reason is win7's versions of hidusb.sys using in standart FAQs.) files.
It worked well on win7-64 with the same hardware config... fcuking "improvements"!

slightly related: how do you cope with Windows 8 auto updating mail, facebook etc? Simple option to turn this off?

You can disable the only account and go for a local one. Plus you don't have to connect any of the win 8 apps to FB.
