There are no new MX300 anymore. You will have to settle for used one or get G1 or G100, both of which have some faults making them imperfect substitutions for MX300.

Or you could just wait for Bst's mouse.

Anyone know where one can buy a G1? I saw a bunch for sale on ebay, some 800 dpi and some 1000 dpi. Heard they sell fakes. Anyone know of a trusted source selling them?

800 DPI are older and 1000 DPI are newer Asian models. Yes, there are some sellers selling fakes, but there are also reliable sellers who sold many G1s to people here and at team liquid.

This is one of them.

G1 cannot do 500 Hz polling rate (it tops at 410-420 Hz), and it has lower perfect control speed so it's not as suitable for ultra low sensitivity players.

- Won't go over 450 hz polling rate
- With very fast twitches my (korean) G1 sometimes freaks out, placing my cursor at the floor in a split second, which is weird since i'm not reaching the required 3m/sec to make that happen

Be careful with those eBay ones, i suspect around 1/4 of them is fake, stay away from the too-good-to-be-true cheap offers (probably a simple generic sensor in a g1 shell).

You can get it to actually skip? Weird, you should get just negative accel after ~1.6 m/s. Probably depends on surface.

Gave the wrong description of the error, i edited my post now. It's not negative accel, it's more like a complete reset of the cursor and places it at the lowest part in the middle of the screen (the floor).

Maybe u can avoid that with smaller mousefeeds.

Can someone please tell me a bit about some of the differences between the mx300 and the G1? What are the differences between the 800 and the1000 DPI G1 versions? which sensor is better and why? I've heard before that the G1/mx300 sensors have mouse prediction, I actually don't really mind mouse prediction (even like it in small doses) unless it's very very noticeable. Can someone with some experience please shed some light on this as well?

Yes, low mouse prediction is nice. Like on the old G9 for example. (the G9x with anglesnapping ON has much higher prediction btw) Unfortunately the prediction on the G1 is very high (not as high as on the salmosa tho) The 800DPI version and the 1000DPI version use the exact same sensor, with the same flaws.(Avago s2020)

btw, i know which G1's are 800DPI on ebay. They are genuine and work with setpoint.

But a G400 is nothing like a MX300. He would have to adjust to it's shape and weight/feel. If he can get a used MX300 here why should he get the G400?
