I really don't have the motivation to make people understand how to spot 'cheating' it's obivious to me, but to be be fair I don't expect most of you to be able to see it.

It is amusing though that a demo like this can be uploaded to a major esports site and noone has been able to see it.

Btw, if you have time, watch the demo again, and pay carefull attention at around the 12 minute mark when the game gets paused. Think very carefully about what you observe in those moments.

This guy IS that good, there are many times in this demo when an enemy gets close to him without him spotting them with his supposed wallhack - I don't understand why anyone with a wallhack would run straight towards rail when they should be able to see the quaded enemy on the bridge (around the 3 minute mark) and around 18:50, when he throws some grenades to the platform above quad - the 2nd one he throws, he guesses the wrong way.

And all I see at the 12 minute mark is someone spinning around getting ready to aim a rail at the rail sniper point + also knowing full well that someone just spawned at shaft stairs and then proceded to go up (towards rail).

You're kidding right? Kash has been a top player for over two years. You can't hide a bot for over two years. Also, he was the best quake3 HPB (56k modem) in North America until he went LPB. How exactly did his bot work so effectively with 150 ping and above? I'm at work at the moment so I can't check out these particular instances you point out, but I seriously doubt they hold water.

OK. I just watched the first 5 mins of the demo (again) and i can tell you for a fact no wallhack was used. Just look at the start when kash was at rail, and didnt know an enemy was coming up the stairs.

Aimbot? Doubt it. OGC is easily detectable because of its tendancy to track (people have to "set-unset" quickly to TRY to make it look like a flick rail, but its still detectable). And as far as i know there have been no *auto-fire* bots as long as i've played q3 (since 1.27h), but i could be wrong about that one. Look at the way he tries to rail the person at the rail balcony during warmup. He makes a fairly slow 'flick-like' movement, and ends up missing. *Note also he didnt aim further than the wall itself, which a wallhack would make the aimbot do.

Everyone seems to think people with out-of-the-ordinary aim MUST be using a bot because you've never heard of this person. Does anyone accuse z4 of (actually) botting? No, because hes been to tournaments and we all know and love him ;). Same thing happened with belth, as all the so called *cheat experts* could easily see he was using a bot. sigh.

I personally havent used any bots, and my aim averages 30%, and i've been called a bot about 6 times in the last 3 weeks. GG IDIOTS.

Maybe it's a q3style he worked on a long time. And now perfectionized it on rail (cus other weapons were ok .. but lg was nice too). IMO i never seen such fast movements and aim ... cus i dont know any hardware that could give u such precision except luck.

would b nice to know what kind of hardware and q3sens settings he uses.
Cus there was a moment @ plasma he was totally sucking with shotgun wich would not have happend if he played constant like @ the times (min 3-7) he railed those guys so FAST @ rail.

I haven't watched the demo - so I won't make any aimbot/non-aimbot judgements...

but it is possible for players to deliberately miss shots, and fail to notice people coming from behind and such, just to make it look like they aren't using wh/bot :()

So, every good player can use any kind of cheat/illegal add on he likes because he couldn't possibly be cheating because he is a good player. GG.

Also, had it occured to you that it's these very players, who are clearly the most competitive and who work so hard to get so good, that the temptation is the greatest? A wallhack which is very hard to spot can give you that little edge over your competition, and turn a great player into a *omg total ownage* player.

As for the other comments, seems sarac is the only person with a brain here. As I mentioned, I really don't have the motivation to make people understand the art of cheating, it seems you need alot of imagination to understand it, and most peoples attitudes of 'he can't be because he missed that shot here bla bla.. or he didn't see that guy behind the wall at this place bla bla' are just very naive. C'mon use your heads for christ sake..

But as I said, none of this suprises me, because I've been getting away with using all kinds of cheats for years, and because I'm clever I can conceal it, although occasionally I get noticed, and I'm not talking about newbie servers, I'm talking about playing against the best UK players.

I don't cheat anymore though, which is why I now like to use my knowledge and experience in the field to out other cheats. Oh, and for those that don't know people have been using aimbots on OSP servers since it was released.

Oh and please don't make ignorant statements like 'there are not autoshooters for q3' or 'what is an autoshooter', get a clue about the subject before you make a post.

The whole online gaming-cheating world is massive and deserves much more attention than it gets. In my years of cheating I met many many others who used hacks, people though it was just in CS but it's everywhere. And thick idiots like the above posters just help to make the whole cheating scene go on and on, as i it didn't exist. It DOES exist and cheats DO exist and are out there. Funny though how of all the demos uploaded onto sites like these NONE of them could possible be of a cheat in action.

Time to wise up people.

And one last thing, I forgot to mention, view the demo with a wallhack enabled, then the 12 minute incident makes more sense.

i do think however that the wallhack cheat can be easily confused with god like experience week in and week out with no ping probs and a decent mouse

The latest OGC version does have autoshoot. I know this because I tested it (against bots).

The fact that stx-kash is being accused of aimbotting is hilarious. Several weeks ago, when it was announced that Boodah and kash were playing together for DoubleTeam 2, I remarked that if Boodah's aim shocked some non-americans they were going to be floored by Kash's aim.

This is how it goes in the international community. A player, reknown in his own country for unbelievable aim, can go virtually unnoticed on the international stage until one day and then everyone's heard of him. It happened with ForZe.Mikes, one demo and suddenly he's a major name even known to the American scene. It happened with Boodah too, but to a lesser extent.

Kash, as Acclaim pointed out, has been a top tdmer in the US for 2 years now. Because he doesn't play for cK, or play 1v1, he's relatively unknown in the international scene. Think about it. Until 519 went to LA7 how many people outside of the US knew their starting lineup? In the past year Kash has emerged as having the best aim in the United States. If you look at the KIT2 website (http://www.clankm.com/kit) you'll see that Kash had the best accuracy, over the course of an entire season, for not only the Railgun (42%), but also the Lightning Gun (28%), Plasma Rifle (21%), and Machine Gun (34%). In doing so he outaimed players like Boodah, Zero4 and Cha0ticz.

He is clearly not an aimbot. In fact, this demo proves that conclusively. He does not lock on to targets, even momentarily. Rather he predicts how they will move and, using the strafe keys, matches their movement.

He could be an autofire. His rail duelling strategy, which consists of placing the crosshair where they will be and then firing, rather than trying tons of flicks, is consistent with what would work best with an autofire. It, incidentally, is also the best way to rail. If he were using an autofire that would not explain the deadly accuracy he demonstrates, and has demonstrated countless times with the plasma rifle and machine gun, both of which are absolutely useless with an autofire.

What it boils down to is this: Kash can aim better than you can. He can aim better than almost anyone in the US. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't change the fact that he's not botting.

The flip side of this argument is that his aim looks very suspect. Just like Belth's aim looked suspect, and just like Zero4's aim looks extremely suspect. I don't think it's unhealthy or unfair to raise the question of someone botting if they have extraordinary aim, especialy if thier movement looks this wierd.

That said, I don't think it's fair to say that they are botting. But it's worth drawing people's attention to the player in question so that their playing can be scruitinised. I doubt too many players who have that kind of aim would really mind being accussed of using a bot -- if it's legit, that's a pretty cool compliment. Besides, I doubt it's the first time he's been called a bot :).

I'm talking rail dueling. Like the 1v1 situations you always get across the pillars in the RA room in pro-q3dm6 when both players have the railgun. Obviously different situations require different approaches.

At 12.02 you can see a glimpse of the enemy when kash is going up the stairs. Even if he doesn't see him, you can clearly hear the enemy pick up the rg...
Same obvious thing at 19.35, the sound from the enemy going up the jumppad is loud and clear. Nothing odd there at all.

I am just really impressed by his reflex rail shots. Many top players like Mikes can probably aim as good as him. But probably none of them has a reflex that is as good as this guy.

The SG effect is common with almost everyone I've seen, so many players have this amazing aim then they whip out the shotgun and it's terrible, don't know why but it does that to me too!

Well, it's the same even in cpma where the shotgun isn't random.

The hit detection is bugged in the same way as vQ3 though, Q3 uses some ludicrous method just for the SG which is why it feels dodgy compared to hitscans like MG and RG.

The funny thing about this demo is that it's not that impressive compared to what I've seen of him. All this commotion and it's really just a typical kash pickup game. I was watching him play the same day this demo was recorded because someone else saw him and thought he was cheating and told me on irc. He had like 5 straight games with 60% rail (one 70%) and a few with 40% lg. Then they banned him from the server after his last game when he got a 49% mgun with like 1000 something shots.

I've yet to see any player with as much skill as this dude had right before he stopped playing. Reminds me of CZM in his STAIR demo days in terms of how much higher his skill level was than his peers. Too bad he never did anything with it.

kash suffered from Barry Bonds syndrome. Best player around, but he couldn't win a damn thing, and most people disliked him. He didn't seem to give a damn either.

yeah, he was criminally hated on. not too many people really knew him, so I just figured it was because he was so good and wouldn't kiss the asses of certain people in the community (he seemed to enjoy not doing that).

I didn't really know him that well, but I know alot of what people said was crap. I found out from a friend of his that he turned cK down after all them dudes left kfc and told spook and czm "I'd rather lose and stay loyal."

oh, so cK did try to get him. I always wondered why he wasn't in there. I figured he would join cK when that one clan he was in broke up but then he went to stx who werent even playing q3. Guess it makes sense now. It's still odd though... most american players would leave clans made up of their real life best friends just to join cK and never play. Guess he was just really loyal.

why did he stop playing Commando? no-one seems to know... some ppl say he stopped because he was playing too much and someone said on another thread he's dead. wtf is the deal. if he's still alive someone should do an interview with him and get a couple old demos uploaded (if they're good like you say they are) because he is v.entertaining to watch with that style, and is popular on this website - something very rare for a US tdm player.

As far as I could tell, alot of people just hated on him, and he hated alot of people. If I had to guess, I'd say he got bored or fed up with the scene and bounced. It's no surprise to me that he didn't say anything to anyone about leaving. He wasn't an attention whore. He rarely even idled in public channels.

But an interview with him would be something though. He had a mouth on him. He was very cocky, but in a quiet, modest kind of way. If that makes sense. Like, he wouldn't shove his skills in your face for no reason and was nice to random newbies like myself without having that stupid elitist attitude, but if you doubted him in front of other people or got on his bad side, he wasn't afraid to say how much better he was than you or belittle you on GTV with 1000 people watching (lol@ him dissing D|S-carde in front of thousands of people on gtv just because everyone was going crazy over carde's shaft aim at a lan tourney. kash was aliased and said 'that guy's a wannabe. I have better shaft aim online than he does on lan' and everyone started laughing and said 'no you dont' and then he changed his nickname and said 'yeah, I do' and then one of his friends said 'lol@everyone who just shut up'). Actually, remembering that little incident makes me want to pay for someone to find kash and bring him back on here for an interview just to see him badmouth everyone who hated on him. It's hilarious when he gets going.

Since it was resurrected, how the times have changed. Better mice and stupid hit detection paved the way for 40% lg and 60% rail to be common. Skill isn't necessary in Quake Live. A G9X is truly all you need. Someone else said it best earlier; Quake 3 is immortal.
