I ddin't mention it in my original argument because the UK had a comparably low population AND<<<< terrible internet.
So it had a bum deal from day one in this game type.

Most of the other countries have an undenibale advantage the UK doesn't. Either through numbers, or simply being early adopters of something that was key to producing good talent in an FPS environment. PING!

Why is that Sweden is only notably good at FPS games?
Its because its the most ping dependant game and they have one of the earlier adopters of it so they have an advantage.

gaming isn't rocket science, its to do with training and conditioning and nothing more.

Sweden are good at FPS because its always been a ping depedant game and they've been able to build up a solid community from an earlier age than many others.

I didn't use population when I said about texas.
I used it to covney the differnece in size, to highlight the fact that the USA is made up of approx 49 or so "other states", and the entire UK fits into one their states alone. Even if it is one of, if not the biggest.

I'm not going research population sizes, as the point I made was designed to highlight the sheer scale of the UK compared to the USA.

But because its so big it suffers from ISP problems, so population does help to produce more players of a higher level (as it has more chances of doing so) but sweden proves the right conditions can make up for it as what the USA makes up for in numbers, it can lose in not having the playing conditions that promote the top level of play.

I was talking on a very grand scale of things. And quite loosely.

A) it does not, and

B) I don't want to be a geek and go researching figures to convey a very obvious point that the UK has a considerably lower population that the US becuase the entire country of hte uK can fit into a single US state.

And using the "Country might only have 3 people" thing is bullshit because we all know America is a thriving country where even its smallest states house over 500,000 people.

Its pretty obvious to a normal rational person that the USA is so obviously bigger in population than the UK I wouldn't need to point that out, which is why I used a very rough, but easy to visualise example (cos I know this site has people who are not normal or rational) to point ou the sheer scale, without being nerdy about it and researching figures that don't convey the visual size difference as well as my example of the UK fitting into one state alone.

The fact that his argument then resorted to, a state could have 3 people in it only shows his true intentions. Especially when the smallest US states have over half a million there.

Just for the record.

UK population around 62,008,049 million and outside the top 20 populated countries.

USA population 310,460,000 and inside the top 3.

I'm not the one with the problem or loosely written points.
I just don't feel at a constant disadvantage.
