I'm guessing he uses a high sens, because it's inconsistent. Sometimes its good enough to hang in the top tier, other times it's not.

also think it was pretty solid play by z4. looked good on dm13 when in control, bit clueless when he lost it. besides nice rails on aero also decent shaft on dm13.

I think his play when out of control is one of his big weaknesses. In games where he loses control, he tends to look lost if he is unable to wrestle control back immediately by rushing. It's probably related to the fact he times by intuition as well.

Have the ads broken the demo player? I get to the demo player menu, select the demo (vo0 vs zero4) and hit play, it then goes to the ad, then just a blank black square. Is anyone else having a similar issue?

you can use the demo tools which are in a thread in the esr qlive forum i think. works perfect for playing demos right now (just watched a demo)

do you have a premium or pro account? I'm thinking it's something to do with the execution of the demo being interrupted by the ad timing or something. I could be wrong, I haven't really peeked into it any yet.

normal account. and premium/pro is not needed to watch demos with pro-maps. anyhow i can watch it manually, that's ok.

he had played a few games vs gellehsak on old cpm, in maps like ztn and 3a I think. if you search hard enough you will find them, these are really old though.

yep, fox is all around player. he can adapt to everything pretty fast. and just like toxjq & co, he didn't play vq3 ONLY, i mean, even back in the day he tried cpm etc... and i'm pretty sure that he would play it if it was aplyed at some IEM events or anything :P.

there's no cpm players > vq3 players or vq3 players > cpm players, it's naive to think otherwise. best cpm players will always be best at cpm (i mean, people like rat, Vo0 and some retired "pro" cpm players), and the best vq3 players will most probably always be best at vq3/ql etc...
but if you're from vq3 and you want to be very good at cpm, all you have to do is learn to be more offensive, and when you come from cpm and want to be good at vq3/ql, you have to learn how to play more defensive (overall). as simple as that really. and ofc when you're from vq3/ql and want to play some cpm you have to learn the "new" movements, you have to learn to move faster basically, and when you're from cpm you have to learn to play a bit more "tactical". but both ql (not vq3, only ql, or vql, whatever you call it =)) and cpm are nice for competitive play, cuz both gameplay are balanced, and tbh ql is still fast enough to bring some entertainment (i mean, it's way faster than anything besides cpm/pk etc =)) and to be fun enough to play. after all, it's only a matter of taste. tbh i like both but it's a shame that i haven't had the opportunity to try cpm for like years, just like i do with vq3/ql now, i mean, if cpm was more popular i would certainly play it more, cuz it's awesome :D.

Positioning errors and instant weapon switch are not luxuries you can get away with in quakelive.

far as I'm concerned quake 3 has been a flawed game for a long time at a high duel level, players got better but the gameplay never introduced enough innovation to co-incide with that.

The result is often stalemate and subjective bickering on forums.
