i'd rather see dm13 than dm6

As much as I dislike playing dm6, it still does have the most awesome awesome games at the top level.

That's basically the summary of it. T7 and T9 are alright but the main reason we're playing them is cause they're new. Should new maps come along that are decent, play them because they're good, not because they're new.

5 maps are enough, just make sure that it's not the same 5 maps for 10 years. A yearly/seasonal rotation would be nice, where at least 2 maps are changed.

One of the problems is people who will never 'do' anything competitively only like to play the maps in the pool, so in that respect I think 7 maps is good. However I think an event is more focused with 5 maps and it's easier to see who is amazing at any one map, and a best of 5 series is a better test of skill if you might have to play every map in the pool.

What do people think of map rotations? A pool of 5 drawn from every competitively viable map (only 6/7 currently) would make individual events feel more unique, and perhaps with more varying results. Plus it might motivate us common scrubs to play something apart from ztn/dm6.
The obvious problem is whether the pro players want to know more maps, particularly if/when new ones are released, hub or completely new. From the little I know about how players prepare, they don't start training with more than one event in mind so if the pool is released before hand it only really hurts lazy players.

Who need hub again in first place?

Remove dm6, keep dm13, dont add Hub.

Final list should be:
dm13, ztn, t9, t7, 1 new map.

Remove the map which consistently gives the best matches?

It's not consistent at all, it gives plenty of terrible ones as well.
All the 'great' matches are exactly the same as well. One guy dominates for 5 minutes, then 1 mistake/good play leads to control switch and the reserve happening.

5 maps is enough

yeahhhhhh lets keep alot of old maps so new people wont have a chance and the quake community continues to shrink yeahhhhhhhh. this game is boring to spec each sat+sunday cause nothing new happens :P

with the first maps to replace beeing dm13 or t9 / t7 in that order. this game desperately needs new maps and clearly more useful updates.

your last sentence makes little sense:
"lets replace t7/t9, give me new maps!"

well, much as i want ztn/dm6 etc to be replaced, theyre better than t7 t9 and well, it does make sense, think about it ;>

its kinda sad really, that ztn was made so early in q3 history. how are they gonna make smt more win :<

also, suppose i coulda added dm6 in the list making it dm13 or t9 / t7 then dm6 in that order to be removed ;p

As long as each map play differently, any maplist is fine with me.
